Yes, you are really, really right.

The loss of the grenade launcher is a bit of a bummer, but the hand grenades nearly make up for it (It was never common for me to take down light vehicles with the nade launcher anyway).

The full auto is also fairly accurate, and it shreads pretty much everything in close combat thanks to its insane power. It is a great sniping weapon, and you can out-snipe snipers if you play it smart. My only gripe is the iron sight, which is impractical when aiming at far away targets.

The BF2 clan community may say that the G3 sucks, but it most certainly does not.  </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> 
Well, I'll just continue getting my plenty of kills with the normal weps. If I get more with normal than G3, AND get the GL, what do I need it for?

I'm just saying their not hard to get. If you've got decent aim, just go assault for 3/4ths of a game, then finish up with medic just to get enough teampoints to get the rest, unless you were spending the entire game capping, then just assault.

engineer is something I can't bear playing <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /> you lay some AT mines, your teammates run over them and punish you. you get out to fix your tank, your teammates steal it. and shotties are pretty cool up close, though if you miss, chances are they'll kill you while you pump it for another shot...

they should make running over friendly mines a non-tk, and engies should be able to fix their vehicles without getting out, maybe while standing still and not firing for 5 seconds or something... or be able to lock them so they can't get jacked...

if they did those fixes, I'd <3 the engy...

i remember sniping some one in a helicopter while ont he move....but didn't work (lol this was MGS3) during the like 2 day I had the beta free download I tried sniping from afar and either it was just poor ping or weird distance which you had to adjust to i.e. the further it is the higher you aim, I completely missed all except for the ones that stood still.

To get the Basic Commander badge (which i have <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /> ), you have to have 40 commander points, and i mean commander points, not points for killing something with your tank, APC, rifle etc at the end of a single round. 2x win bonus does not count.

Basically, just drop supplies as fast as they come, artillery strikes up the wazooo and keep issuing orders to squads, because that gives you points, although slowly.

I'm pretty sure scan doesnt give points and i'm unsure on UAV.

Also, basic air defense and basic ground defense are simple. To get them, sit in a TOW for 10 minutes in a single round, that gives you ground defense. Sitting for 10 minutes in a Stinger or AA vehicle gives you air defense.

In MGS3 its uber easy to snipe the Hind pilots. Far easier than hitting them with the RPG for that matter.

But you also can't download a '2 day beta' of it, so I don't know what the hell you're talking about...

Wow. Just...wow.

I got off after playing for awhile... and I've had some fairly awesome experiences.

I became Squadleader, and hooked up with a Blackhawk pilot. I stayed in and gunned it and the whole squad spawned in the BH and bailed over cap points as needed. It was a mobile spawn-point of Awesomeness +3. Not to mention the NUMEROUS kills I scored on the minigun. God that thing rocks. We ended up dominating and winning all of the rounds.

Later on i hooked up with another Heli pilot, and we flew the Chineese attack chopper with me gunning. We died. Alot. He was having a bad day and I had never gunned for an Attack chopepr before, but we got better and better. One Heli pilot kept shooting us down EVERY time we saw him. we were just no match, but I got a few lucky hits off. One being a TV guided missle RIGHT into his tail rotor, sending his chopper down into ANOTHER enemy. 3 kills.

Various REALLY awesome squads. I led one squad and kept them on their feet as a medic. We took names and kicked ****. 'Twas an awesome experience.

I'm starting to get alot better at this game. I have never played any Battlefield games, so the play style is taking some getting used to... I still really love the shotgun. I stalled an entire enemy squad alone with my mines/shotgun. I threw mines at the entrance their APC was coming through and he saw them, stopped, and they all hopped out. Between my ducking in and out of cover, I popped 5 of them, and 1 guy twice, before the commander dropped artillary on my face, killing me and the last of them. (Arty that I so kindly requested, thinking I wouldn't be able to handle that anyway.)

It seems a bit silly to be squad leader and a medic at the same time. You act as a mobile spawn point ... so someone else should be a medic to revive you when you're behind enemy lines ... whenever I'm squad leader I just go Anti-tank or Spec Ops <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' />

You need variety though. Medics can't do anything about tanks or choppers. As squad leader, you shouldn't be a medic unless you want two in your squad.
