Episode 3

<div class="IPBDescription">Just got back</div> Just got back from the nice 2 1/2 hour long movie that is Star Wars: Episode III.

Umm...let's start off by saying it is exactly like the first two movies. The script is pretty much the same dialogue-wise. By that I of course mean it is dull, crappy, and boring like the first two.

The fight scenes are ok and there aren't enough of them. The problem with the movie is that it is about 80% talking, 15% fighting, and 5% of jokes and nonsense.

I understand it was the movie that explained everything, but if the majority is talking then I believe the script should be up to par.

The movie only starts to pick up after Anakin turns to the darkside and starts killing things. You finally sit on the edge of your seat for about 10 minutes, then it lets you down again.

I'd rate this movie 5/10 and I suggest you see it once just because it's the last one, but plz do not expect much of out it. If you have any high expectations whatsoever, you will be dropped hardcore.

I congratulate you. No normal man would be able to whisper such words.

I think I'll wait for this to come to DVD before seeing it.

I didn't think much of EP1 but I honestly didn't see anything wrong with EP2, why the haet? I know it doesn't even compare with the original trilogy, but then what do you expect? You can't improve on perfection.

Incidentally I approve of the statement made by your latest sig and avatar Mr CWAG.

Moreover, I kinda liked Ep I and II in various ways. I just missed the nostalgia the first 3 had. But I doubt anything can recapture that sort of gold.

It's sort of like, my vision is clouded by something in the background, so I don't see the focus of the image. Sucks I know.

I heard one time that Steven Speilberg offered to direct at one point in time.

    Sadly he was shot down.

I agree with this post. In fact, I also agree with your sig.

I guess the reason I dislike these Star Wars movies so much is because I didn't even like the originals. Those were OK, these are terrible and very, very, pretty. But it's a waste because this mix of sci-fi and fantasy is something I really, really, don't like.

I went to be entertained by these movies; I was more than adequately entertained.

I spent the entire time enjoying the movies. It's so easy to criticize.

This is your l337 post countdown warning. You have 2 posts left before great leetness.

On another note: I was all excited about the prospect of all this fighting. If it's 15% fighting then i'm not surprised, but I am disapointed. I read somewhere a list of all the fights that will happen between various characters and it seemed that the movie would be countless battles. Alas, I can only hope that the 80% dialog isn't littered with more repugnant love scenes, however short they may be.

Well obviously I'm not going to just not see it because other people didn't like it. The task now is to find someone who will go with me. Haha, I havn't talked to a lot of my friends in person for ages.

Well I have to disagree with most of this thread. Episode I was OK at best, Episode II sucked big time, Episode III redeems them both. It was excellent. Two big thumbs up. Though people aren't joking when they say it's 'dark', and the movie is actually very sad. You certainly don't leave the theatre feeling 'good' about the movie. The transition from good to evil was done seemlessly. The mix of fighting and dialog was good. The actors weren't so scripted and monotoned like they were in the previous two. I feel like a lot more work went into the making of this movie, and it shows.

I was skeptical, I didn't think this movie would amount to anything. I was expecting a let down - and I am happy to say that I was 100% wrong.

I thought this movie was awesome. Completely redeems the entire series in my eyes.

I didn't like Episode I all that much, and actively dispised Episode II, so I went in expecting this movie to suck. I expected a complete waste of time and money.

I was pleasently suprised. This movie is just awesome. Yeah, the acting is a little bad in some places, but lets be honest now, the classic series suffers from that too. I love how they tied everything together coherently. There are no unanswered questions left, which is a good thing since its the series conclusion and all. The action was top notch too, especially the lightsaber fighting. Definately put the saber fighting from Episode I and II to shame.

I'm already wanting to go see it again. :D

Someone make a spoilerific Episode III thread so we can talk about all the other details w/o ruining this one for others. :P

    [edit]
Oh, and yeah it was either James Earl Jones or a guy who could do a near perfect impression for Vader's voice work. Not really a spoiler, but I'll mark it w/ spoiler tag anyway:
[spoiler]When Vader first talks and sounds a little half like Anakin and half like Vader, I think that was intentional.[/spoiler]
    [/edit]

    [edit2]
WTH the spoiler tag stopped working. O.o oh well.
    [/edit2]
