I recorded over a demo I quite wanted to keep, is there anyway to get the original demo back?

    You cannot recover the demo.

    I've already replied to your other thread in New Player forum. If you must double post, please link to two threads so that replies in one are easily found from the other.

    I doubt there would be a way to recover the orginal demo, but I could be wrong.

    As prevention is better than cure, here's a script that will (hopefully) stop you over-writing existing demos:

    alias demo "demo_prompt"
    alias demo_prompt "messagemode record; alias demo demo_stop"

    bind x"demo"

    Replace x with demo record key.

    This will bring up a messagemode "record:" input box, into which you can enter your desired demo filename.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
