Mass Media Has Failed Me.

Again.
Yet again, something mindblowingly important has happend and yet again, the Media didn't bother to inform me, because it's more important that we see who's winning on American Idol. Sometimes I hate this country's values. Anyway here's the real topic;

Private War Memo from the U.S. to the U.K. revealed.

Anyway. Someone with better eyes than me, please read this, tell me I'm and idiot and I missed something so I can go to bed and not care.

    Dissappointing, but shouldn't be unexpected at this point.

    Yeah well I trolled at my school for years about how we forgot the whole WMD thing as soon as we entered that poor misbegotten country. As soon as the troops rolled in, the reasoning and logic rolled out. Why did we go there? Who are we freeing? The resources or the people?

    Symptoms of a greater problem, and i'm sorry to say one not isolated to United States.

    Not to be overly cynical, but how is this something new?

    It confirms things. Have we ever had solid evidence before?

    ::EDIT::
    But why do we have to be so accepting of these decisions. I for one am angry.

    I can't speak for the American side of things, but this doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

    Can't say I'm particularly suprised.

    Can say I'm extremely displeased. People like me aren't supposed to be right.

    But why isn't everyone else angry? Why isn't this news circulating so that from the smallest man to the greatest, we all know to the very core that we were lied to and that our leaders no longer respect us. Why is it that this is tolerated, accepted even. Do people just plainly not care?

    What can I do about it? I've hated bush since he was elected, I voted against him, I can do nothing more. A public outcry MAY work...but now that it's obvious that the government controls the 'free' press, is it really so useful?

    It's just nothing knew. The leaders of men have despised and lied to their underlings for thousands of years, and this is how it will always be. Liberalism and socialism have been branded as works of the devil, and capitalism is heralded as the grand saviour. We have very effectively declared that we WANT to be screwed over, opressed and lied to. Heck, the very person who's doing this was democratically elected. We ourselves have made the bed that we are now sleeping in.

    The press doesn't care. The public doesn't care. Every left-leaning blog on the internet has covered this kind of thing dozens of times.

    What exactly are we supposed to do?

    I can't wait for someone who voted for this guy to come in and try to explain this.

    Blair saw his majority cut by something like a hundred seats. Iraq was definately a factor.

    Put a sock in a bottle and light it on fire, that's what you're supposed to do.

    These kinds of attitudes are what hold us back! Come on guys, proactive thought! Who can be contacted with this information that would likely publicize it? I could talk to my mom's boyfriend, he runs KERA, our local PBS station. That could help, since he might encourage someone on Frontline or some other news show.

    Defeated by the system? Don't give me that, we are the system in a democracy.

    No, most of the people who voted in the last election voted for him. That group of people is distinctly different from the population as a whole.

    What have you done? Gotten angry and posted on an internet "discussion" forum.

    A very few people can make a difference, yes, and history has shown it to a certain extent. But those few people are very, very rare. No one here will do anything. I won't do anything because to be honest, I don't really care.

    I also don't think that anything I do will make a difference. The trouble is, EVERYONE thinks like that. So nothing ever gets done.

    Fixed.

    Nothing of this nature surprises me anymore. I hate it, but I cannot change it so I don't worry about it. Until the proles start caring, it won't change.

    BTW, just started 1984. It's a good book, there are tons of references to it in Half-Life 2.
