    Imagine an onos charging a squad of marines and dying just before it reaches but the momentum of the body propels the carcass in to the poor NSA, smashing them aside like bowling pins!

    Cool <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    or you run up to the onos and shoots it point blank with your shotty. it dies, falls over and *SPLAT* crushes you to death.

    <a href='http://members.cox.net/benkarcher/onos.jpg' target='_blank'>I can see it now...</a>

    Because NS isn't about gore and random corpses littering the floor, perhaps something could be coded where the bodies would quickly disintegrate Resident Evil 4 style. The effect would fit perfectly for the Kharaa, but it would need to be tweaked to look more "nanitey" (visualize the formation of medpacks in midair) to fit the Marines.

    From a story standpoint it probably wouldn't be too hard to come up with good reasons why the bodies would disapeer - Aliens could have some kind of rapid-disintegration reaction to death, an evolution trait from their home-planet to stop predators from getting a good meal out of the kill or something. Not sure about marines, perhaps a self-destruct thing to stop enemies from being able to study our technology.

    Add in some nice particle effects and it would be pretty cool.

    Who said onos cant explode when you shoot them? Blood splatter all over the walls and bits of gore. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> Problem solved..

    An Onos' charge would be amusing too, throwing marines up several feet in the air...

    How about NS goes "Sim's like" and we have to look after ourselves. Onos meat for a week! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Although more seriously, Sandstorm has the idea I thought of. Most sensible and most effective.

    The bodies disappear, because the Nanobots and Bacterium in the air detect a dead lifeform, and recycle it for future use.

    If you played <u>The Sims - NS Style</u>, I'd be an Onos. Unfortunately, I'd have to feed myself quite often, and actually hunt down food... Maybe I should invite the neighbours over...

    how about instead of all this, make bhopping work on source. because thats unarguably the most fun thing to do in ns :o

    I'm still quietly waiting to see the jelly-like construction process alien structures are bound to go through in Source. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> It would start out as a translucent blob seeping up from the floor and slowly solidify and become opaque as it grows.

    As said before, this is an idea for NS:S.

    But I have an question; if ragdolls are clientside, i shoot the arm on a dead body (in, say, cs:s) and a guy runs into the arm where it looks to be for ME, can it NOT be there for him & not make him feel like he hits the body ? If not so, i have the advantage at launching arms (can you just see em swining left to right from a dead body ? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) at people making em slow down ? Just wondering...

    Regards

    i got a feeling its gonna be at LEAST till fall before we can play NS:S... probably later <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    its a shame too, i can only imagine the kind of stuff they could put it in. They should do a straight port (well figure out small physics stuff and the minor engine change stuff) and let us play that as they begin to start updating everything.
