I don't get why they make this map official and why they don't make ns_source official. ns_source looks very similar to this map and TyrNemesis didn't even reply Lt.Gravitys request yet for about 3 weeks.

What are you talking about, the gamma is more than ok in my opinion.
The map looks great, but yeah... what about the core hive? Seems a little strange to me :/

What would I be jealous off? I'm just don't see why he said he got 'exclusive screenshots' when b6 has been in the hands of the CM for a long time now. I consider exclusive shots as screens handed out by the NS team of material that hasn't been seen outside the team.

ns uses overbrightening to enhance the contrast of the maps. This overbrightening effect is not visible in screenshots, so in order to get them to look like they do in game you have to edit them in photoshop.

I can see the map fine as it is. who cares about gamma correcting? Pointless response, IMO.

Anything from B6 is "exclusive", simply means "unavailable to the general public", which is what it is.

    Simmer down. =P

IMO NS_sourse, while extreamly gorgeous, probably still needs a bit more playtesting. The archetexture is far from NS standard, and it strikes me as the kind of map that would need to be well playtested several times before a perfect balance can be achieved.

Honestly I would love to see it official though.

    speaking about the core hive:

its a very nice hive. looks awesome too. ive never really seen it as a balance problem except one time when a jp got on top of the hive and no one could get him down, but i believe it has been fixed so nothing can get on top of the hive in core. its a pretty sweet hive in my opinion

One thing though, if you have photoshop, could you please adjust the gamma? (Go to image -> adjust -> levels, then in the dialog box change the last of the 3 input boxes to 155. The map screenshot should brighten up considerably, and the colours will be more vivid, thats pretty much how the map should look in game. Thanks again <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->.

Rofl, "correct your gamma." Either you people have your monitors set to 0 contrast / brightness, or your idea of "correct NS map lighting" is equivalent to most people's perception of a "gamma haxx0r." OH NOZE I CANT FIND THE SKULK IN .2 SECONDZ! MUZT INKREEZ GAMMA!111eight Keep in mind that it all seems darker due to the brightness of your sidebars, toolbars, and startbar of Windows and your web browser.

At any rate, the map looks good. The hive room looks like it could be well protected from LAs, MS is nice and open (although that CC is gonna be rape central) which suits the Marines.

wow you are a smart person. how about next time, if you honestly have NOTHING to say besides vague attempts to assault anyone who likes to see the texturing and architecture, not just some tiny spots of light surrounded by darkness.

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Either you people have your monitors set to 0 contrast / brightness, or your idea of "correct NS map lighting" is equivalent to most people's perception of a "gamma haxx0r."<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

first of all, define most people. secondly, my idea of correct ns map lighting is a kind of lighting that allows you to see the surrounding area clearly. darkness is bad for both aliens and marines, so whats the point of making pitch-black rooms or corridors?

but that got off-topic, so i'll reask my question: can anyone post a layout of the map here?

    what's wrong with the architecture??

the map represents what it is meant to be. or is sb afraid of new things??

soure is better than ayumi or bast..
and bast has really been fixed to its own death and I think I'm not the only one in here who thinks like that about bast.

Sir, I'm afraid you don't know what you're talking about. Screenshots of ns by default are not accurate to how they appear in game, due to a technique ns has added to give mappers more control over the lighting.

    See this for details.
