We have not yet made the decision as to whether Troika Games as an entity will regroup and pursue future projects or simply cease to exist. We want to thank all of our fans for their support these past seven years, it has really meant a lot to us that there were people out there who enjoyed our games enough to create fan-sites and follow our progress as a company. But we especially want to thank all of our employees - we had the pleasure of working with the some of the most dedicated, hard working, creative people in the industry, and we really appreciate all that they did for Troika.

Thanks for everything,

All I can say is WTH. I was really looking forward to Bloodlines 2, or anything else from Troika, actually.

    The sad thing, was it started closing down as Bloodlines shipped.

    I have high hopes for obsidian, but it saddens me that their first game was rushed because lucasarts pushed them.

    KOTOR2 was their first game, and its potential was stifled by the unneeded pressure from lucasarts. One whole planet, the entire HK-50 sideplot and the *real* ending were cut. All the content except for the scripting is already in the game files.

    Needless to say, after being disappointed by the ending then learning about the totally awesome cut ending was a real downer.

    I find it only a little bit sad that the good smaller game compaines get shut down, while companies like EA contiune to put out crap.

    Know what would solve that? A hearty round of firebombings!

    Just kidding, I love you EA. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    The reactions of the folks at <a href='http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/02/24/1655253&tid=187&tid=10' target='_blank'>Slashdot</a> (yeah, I know, I know) were mixed. Some were saddened by the loss, remembering the quality of the games made by Troika, while some claimed to not be affected, as Troika had a reputation for designing buggy games.

    Buggy? When you've got a game that draws you in as well as VtM: Bloodlines you don't care.

    I mean that game was the best game of 2004 (For me) I just got into it.

    Well, that's exactly the problem. Some of Bloodline's bugs run so deep that they ruin the immersion. That isn't to say I didn't enjoy it though, it was still great fun, and Troika certainly don't deserve to be shut down.

    It didn't for me, but then again I have a weird opinion when playing games <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Zaphod was the only one I knew of, and it was him that first hinted to us at the mapcore forums that Troika was crumbling.

    I believe Macman may have worked there as well, though I can't think of any others off-hand.

    Want to help out small games development companys?

    <a href='http://www.darwinia.co.uk' target='_blank'>Play this game, and then buy it. Even if you hate it. I know I did. (Although I think its cool)</a>

    But seriously the game rocks. Its like Cannon Fodder cross-bred with an RTS and Tron. All at the same time.

    Or something like that
