Keep in mind though, that if you have any significant amount of files, it can be very slow to store/recover them using gmail (depends on your internet connection).

ya it would still take a long time to upload the files. i thought u were just able to send a message to yourself. thats what i did when i had something at school i needed to work on at home. i just emailed it to my own g-mail account.

    CD burner: ~$30
    50 GB: 72 CDs
    72 CDs: ~$15

$45, and you have lots of CDs for storage. Of course, you could always get another hard drive if you plan on using THAT much space.

CD burners are very useful, for other storage, too. You can give stuff to friends, if they can't download it easily. You can backup, without needing an internet connection. You can backup somewhere that you know is safe, rather than an internet site. You can make CDs for your car stereo. Etc.

screw the cd burner and get a DVD BURNER <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> . You can get a nec 3520A for next to nothing, plus dvds are really cheap to get too.

    <a href='http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=27-152-036&depa=0' target='_blank'>DVD Burner:</a> ~$100
    50 GB = 15 DVDs.
    15 DVDs = $15

    $45 > $115

Check GMail's terms of use; the GMailFS is technically not allowed. Thereby illegal. Therefore...
