in Fan-Fiction Forum
When I was browsing through the fan fic forums, I noticed some ppl using ? to replace " and '. Why is this so? And some words in stories are replaced by ****. Is this **** thing automatic or do I put it there myself. If it is automatic, which words are not acceptable and will be replaced by ****? I ask this bcos I may be posting a story here.

    For the swear filter. Replace a** with arse.

    Also, to prevent un-necessary ? from popping up after you have posted ur chapters, simply edit the story and replace all the ? with the correct stuff.

    the random question marks are an after effect of switching the servers, I checked up on SE a couple weeks ago and much to my dismay it was riddled with random question marks.

    You can say anything you want in your storys, the NSF swear filter will remove anything that the NS team would deam offensive. However since this is writing and sometimes ***** needs a little elaborating, you can always put the first letter and then a couple asterisk if the word absolutely needs to be conveyed correctly
