map is BIG but its awsome looking. Also theres some spots that marines are trapped like inside that orange lighted tunnel or behind the pipes (forgot where)

    Great job!

Well, I finally got a chance to check it out. It is an awesome looking map. Some of the areas have a really good mood to them. It's quite nice looking too. It just seems to me that the Shiva logos are used a little too much.

Ran through it, reall ynice map. ONly grief is the weldable dbl node. I like the fact you can't build in it unless it's welded open to prevent an alien from dropping it in there, but that means that the area is only a single node UNLESS the marines weld it, giving the aliens no way to take advantage of the second node unless they let the marines have it first.

I did crank up my gamma, but that's only because HL's screenshots are usually fairly dark. Those look close to what I saw on my screen, but I play with a high gamma because my laptop's screen is a little dark. If you're wondering, yes there are shadows and boatloads of ambush spots.

I love it all apart from how you ripped a room idea from my head (or we both got it from the same place *cough* StarWars *cough*) but it doesn't matter because my map's taken a backseat to the Mod I'm working on. By the way I was talking about Data Transmission.

I'm sure that Chazza's just a slightly advanced googlebot who appears every time 3 consecutive posts say the word official. But seriously I've been following this map since I joined the forums and it has deserved it ever since you resurrected it - you showed us a corridor with the Shiva logo and we all jumped on your back to give it another shot. Glad you made the effort

The Marine spawn feels too small.

I agree, the marine spawn is too small and some of the corridors feel a bit narrow. Apart from that its one of the most good looking NS maps Im yet to see and I cant wait to play it with some people. The layout seems balanced too!

I really hope this gets included!

Im still fighting for the german "-=NGG=- Custom Collection"-server (ns only)!
and this map is so hot, its a MUST in the cycle! definetely!!!

Nice map, a few issues though.

It's too bright in marine start as well as a few rooms next to it.

As others have mentioned, marine start is a bit too small.

Some of the hives are too easy to siege. If you take a look at these screenshots, you can see that datacore is easily siegable from 2 corridors away.

And with a single pack of mines and a marine who's a half decent shot, aliens couldn't touch that room.
Maybe add a few vents leading out of the hives

Same goes for this hive:

It's a bit spawn camp friendly. Those crates just aren't going to do it. It needs a big obstacle or some other feature in there to block LOS.
Maybe add some vents leading out of there as well. Possibly here:

Behind those grating walls in the second screenshot and on the far side of that tunnel, put a nobuild in there. As is, structures just sink through the floor beyond those walls. It would just save from some extra frustration on a commander who's new to the map.

Also, those two death pits. Although they look good, they would get a bit annoying after falling in them 10 times in a single round. Maybe cover them up with a glass lid or a force field.

At the moment, it looks a bit marine dominated. But other than those few things, it looks like a really nice map that would play fairly well.

In the zip file does the .res file go in my ns\maps folder or just my ns folder. The zip shows to put it in the ns folder.

Nice work, i love the architecture design. Generator room impressed me the most, I can't wait to skulk all over it

The placement/usage of lights and overall brightness level is good. However, Colour-wise the lighting is a little bland. Apart from a bit of yellow and orange dotted about, its pretty much all blue-grey-white coloured. It would be nice to see more variety of colour. Done subtly of course

I love the design of Draft shafts, however the route feels a little redundant, at least for the marines. It takes the same time to reach the resource node going via maint bays and that route looks far safer.

I think Coolant exchange needs a second ladder or ramp to the upper level or Oni and Gorges will suffer (I do love the mist effect on the floor however )

Was the reason this isnt on the official list due to missing the beta 6 deadline?

It should be in maps, but its only used by the server (tells the server what files the client needs to download in order to able to the run the map).
