Well, i was playing around with the active desktop thing, where u can place html docs as part of the desktop, and i started thinking how awesome it would be to place a flash based mp3 player right on the desktop with this. so i was wondering if any of you people have any idea where i could find a flash based mp3 player that i can configure to play my own local files(i'm been trying to figure something out in flash, but i'm not pro enough at all)

anyway thats all i got, peace

Why not use Winamp? Much less bloated than a flash player would be and certainly more powerful.

u don't understand what i mean, i want it in the desktop as an attached webpage, just for the coolness factor, i mean, i already have winamp

see, like look at <a href='http://www.googlerank.com/articles/streaming-audio-easy/free-streaming-mp3-consolle.html' target='_blank'>http://www.googlerank.com/articles/streami...3-consolle.html</a> except with multiple track functionality, u know? then i'd slap it into a small html and attach it to the desktop and then my desktop has a built in player

I'm with EEK. If your idea of cool is having a flash player embedded in your desktop you need a hobby.

    Get Winamp 5
Get the MMD3 skin, go for the small bar version (by clicking on that button between minimise and close)
    Choose a color you like.
I don't see how a desktop player could be better.

Alternatively, open WMP, minimize it, right click on your taskbar > toolbar > WMP.
Your player is now part of your taksbar.

    edit:

    Winamp plugin: <a href='http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=82271' target='_blank'>http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=82271</a>

If you really wanted something built into your desktop, you could always use a windows skin such as <a href='http://www.litestep.net/' target='_blank'>litestep</a> alot of those skins have buttons and sliders that can control winamp.
You can even make your own skins to emulate the windows enviroment your used to, but with the little addition of your winamp control.
Minimise winamp to the systray and viola.

Doesn't that hog CPU Resources like WinAMP 3 did?

It's a neat idea, but the problem is that it would constantly be using a lot of CPU time, so everything else will lag.
