am I the only one who thinks that drawings aren't so amazing? you can draw anything you want, the only thing that makes them impressive is the implied skill of the artist... but that's not the point of this thread. I think "amazing images" means photographs of real life, like the 9/11 one and moultano's latest picture of the redwoods. I'm going to try to scan a few pics I have of the great wall I took when I was there, that is truly amazing.

An image is amazing depending on how it looks, not how it was made. I don't think something should be considered amazing only because of the huge amount of work it would take to make it, but if it must have taken forever then so much the better.

As happy as I am that GTA:SA will feature co-op, it's not an amazing image. Neither is a photoshopped Gordon Freeman warezing HL2.

It's banal. Let's have something truly amazing, eh?

I personally don't find pictures of 9/11 amazing. In the same way you dumb down drawings by saying they are just something some guy drew, the 9/11 pictures are just snapshots of a building collapsing.

What makes it amazing is the attached symbolism, meaning and, emotion. Which those 9/11 pics really didn't have for me. Not in the right way to be "cool". Just depressing.

It's amazing because there aren't any other pictures like that, and it's not everyday you see the world's largest buildings collapse into the ground. This isn't the movies.

Here are some more amazing (IMO) images:

This is of a dude riding his motorcycle on a wall. Here's a close up I managed to grab:

They also reminded me of his books, truly awesome pieces of work. It's a pity they haven't been as popular as they should've been, though I've been seeing more and more people reading them.

On a simmilar note, if anybody can find some of the pictures from the 3rd book of the Dark Tower series (The Wastelands) I would love to set them as my background. In particular the one showing some of the creatures in the Wastelands towards the end of the book, that has to be one of the best pictures I've ever seen.

I've been to Carlsbad. For some reason I wasn't that impressed, but thats probably most likely because of the "towns" (tourist traps) with 300% increased prices around it.

That's just it. I've been desensitized. I think you misunderstood what I was saying.

Once again, for clarity; there has to be attached meaning for it to affect me. And somehow I didn't feel that attached meaning for photos regarding 9/11, amazingly enough.

    Anyway, nice pictures.
