Just like VHS and DVD, this new technology will first be adopted by porn industry, who will pioneer it before it reaches popularity.

    Imagine the possibility.

Well, I pop by the offtopic forums once in a while. But don't count on seeing me in the S&I forums again. First, it's been too long (have played only once since the 3.0 betas started coming out, so I wouldn't know what's been implemented anyway). And second, I have a few issues with the mods (a personal thing).

But pop by <a href='http://s6.invisionfree.com/Xect' target='_blank'>my RPG forum</a> sometime, that's where I went when I realized that the only thing I was still posting here for was the RPG section, and that the mods weren't going to clean up the place (making it an utter mess).

He had that VR Headset that he used to operate his computer with just his thoughts.

Speaking about VR Headsets... I would SOOOOO play the MMO from Dot Hack if they made one of those things. Even at the risk of going into a coma cause my mind tricks itself into thinking it is dead. (Yes I just did watch Legend of the Twilight Bracelet, which is greater than Hack//Sign in my opinion, cause it's just way more fun.) I mean, how cool would it be to play an MMO with a headset that makes you see a full view inside the game and your thoughts controling the character. I would keep the control pad just to control external things to your character, like the menu and ingame emailing system, and just to remind you that you're in VR.

Man that would be awesome. Except for all the attempts by different crackers to put you in a coma... That wouldn't be.

Donoghue and his research team implanted sensors in the brains of monkeys, and got them to play a simple computer game - chasing dots around a screen with a cursor using a mouse - to get a food reward. As the monkeys played, computers read signals from the sensors and looked for patterns. From the patterns, the team developed mathematical models to determine which signals meant to move left, right, up, down and so on. After a while, the team disconnected the mouse and ran the cursor off the monkeys' thoughts. It worked: The monkeys could chase the dots by thinking of what they'd normally do with their hands.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Despite the sarcasm, that statement actually isn't too far off the mark. If Microsoft were better at making good software than they are at selling crap software they wouldn't be even close to being as wealthy\powerful as they are today. Success in selling a product has more to do with how you market the product than the product itself. Yay for capitalism!
