Gotta be Black Mesa because they have the G-Man. Or the G-Man has Black Mesa. Either way, he's there, and he rocks. You can't kill him, even by cheating. He's immortal.

yea i agree with stickman, Gordon would deffinately left standing after a large battle . No doubt

Its gotta be Black Mesa in my opinion, since if there was a big battle between them all, every other company would go into the battle and get killed. The Black Mesa employees would all hide at the first opportunity and Barny would take over after everyone got killed, since he was hiding in a dumpster somewhere.

Out of those, I've only played Doom and Half-Life. And out of the UAC and Black Mesa, well, at least Black Mesa engineered their catastrophe.

I'll have to go with Tri-Optimum here.

Not only could they afford massive space stations they could also afford to build interstellar starships AFTER an economic collapse.

In addition, their business influence extends AT LEAST as far as Saturns moon Titan and because of the Von Braun I'd guess they probably extend at least across the entire solar system and were looking to expand having filled their niches in the solar system.

In fact, they were so big they sent Edward Diego's son (who hated everything Tri-Optimum) to escort the Von-Braun in the UNN Destroyer (The Rickenbacker) just so they could be sure that Tri-Op would be kept under control.

Not only that but Tri-Optimum's monopoly makes Microsoft look like a one man softball match. They own EVERYTHING. From heavy industry to board games to medical equipment right down to foodstuffs. Heck they even have their own Propaganda and private armies with cybernetic enhancements.

I'd say no ones got nothin' on Tri-Op. The UAC only extends as far as mars (from what I can tell of Doom 3) and Black Mesa was only a single research facility.

Tri-Op Wins.

TriOp

They have the cyber boy working for them

he managed to take down Shodan, take down the genetic mutate thingy, and then take down shodan AGAIN.

this guy is just way to friken badarsed.

Tri-Optimum wins, no doubt about that. Just look at their weaponry, including battle mechs and lastly, AIs.

As I work for a company that one of these 'fictional' companies was based on. My opinion is slightly skewed.

I don't think Black Mesa is a valid option, because they technically did nothing wrong. It was the government that were the bad guys really wasn't it?

Anyway, I chose UAC. Anybody that can open a portal to hell gets my vote.

I'm with UAC on this one. Not only have they constructed several useful pieces of technology, they've also created the most badass weaponry. Give me the BFG over any of that lame crap that Gordon carries.

And so what? Gordon killed a giant floating baby, wow, good for you, the Doom marine layed down some RIP AND TEAR on the cyberdemon, definately the biggest and baddest of the two.

EDIT: As for some point someone made in the last thread regarding the Doom marine needing to carry the flashlight, incase you've not guessed, generally light doesn't shine from nowhere, and 9 times out of 10, you'll have to carry the flashlight. Also, anyone else notice that the HEV suit doesn't actually have a flashlight at all. Must be those nanites.....

I'm curious as to why Weyland Corp has EVE in parenthesis. Is some acronym for the alien series that I'm not familiar with?

I voted TriOptimum for the reasons already listed. They control a larger percentage of the GDP in their setting than the other corporations combined.

Umbrella has Tyrant, Berkin, Nemesis, Alexia, and the Queen. Any could take on a **** Cyber Demon.

I feel like such a nerd in this thread, it rules.

Does Tri-Op have orbital bombardment?

If so, Zombies, Demons, nothing could stand up to that.

Ice-Phoenix: G-man isn't Gordon. ^^;

I think I'd have to go ahead and vote for Umbrella. Not just that I'm a big Biohazard fan, but I think as far as "the company I'd be more worried about if they actually existed" instead of UAC. Not really sure why, I guess it's just *somewhat* more plausible to me.

I don't know EVE or System Shock so can't say... as for Black Mesa, I think same statement as above applies.

Tri-Op since they created SHODAN who took there FTL drive which alters the space around the ship to allow it to travel faster than light and just plane used it to manipulate the ship into something she preferd more.

Then we got the cyborgs, nanites = teh win.
BFG pfft Fusion Cannon.
As for killing big bad monsters UAC marine killed a Cyberdeamon so what, he had to use an ancient alien device, Tri Op just created the biological opposite of the borg who not only took controll of the crew but took controll of the AI and since they STARTED to take over the ships when they were still in eggs they win.

Then theres the money they got.

EDIT

Again Tri Op created a device that alters space if they beefed up the size of it they can not only create a planet they can crete hell, just instead of the devil put Shodan in charge.

The many were also created from a virus... designed by Shodan, face it if she needs something killed she can make a new virus in a few hours.

UAC, hands down. They managed to open a portal to HELL, here. Tri-Op wasn't evil, they just got manhandled by a hacker, and then manhandled by aliens in a freak accident. BMRF opened a portal to an alien world, but they did it on accident and then proceeded to get their **** kicked by the aliens. Umbrella created zombies, but not only do xen aliens create their own zombies, but I think that aliens and hellspawn would be totally immune to zombification.
• UltimaGeckoUltimaGecko hates endnotes Join Date: 2003-05-14 Member: 16320Members
If they were all fighting eachother I'd have to go with BMRF. They've got tons of scientists that could teleport them wherever they wished. The UAC would try to do the same thing only kill themselves with a gate of hell. Umbrella would try to poison the BMRF water supply, only to find out that their operative got head crabbed by the new guard-headcrabs. Weyland...if it's not Weyland/Yutani from Aliens I've never heard of before (and they haven't even captured an alien yet, so they lose).

All in all, BMRF is most in charge of their equipment and experiments, so they'd be most likely to win in a battle between them all.

However, if it was "Which one don't you want around?" I'd go with Umbrella, because they seem pretty inept at keeping their "Killer Virus LETTER" glass vials from shattering, essentially killing everyone where they're working.

This was my mistake. At the time of making the poll I didn't remember where Weyland corp. came from, so I googled it and the first return was related to the game EVE online.

By editing the poll answer to properly reference the Alien series, I'll probably also erase people's answers. Which is fine, because it means you can answer again while taking all of the above posts/explanations of corporations into account.

Black Mesa - Can travel to other planets via teleportation. Unfortunately they're entirely inept at using this technology. Makes a couple of guns, none of which are really that impressive. Also has a downright terribly designed base. I wouldn't put much faith in them since all you have to do is destroy a couple of rocks and it'll take them 12 hours to escape their base. Never mind the fact that half of them will die on the way out from radiation leaks, strangely placed freezers of death you have to go through. (Plus, Gordon gets trapped in the dark and knocked out. What kind of man loses all his guns? Sure he may have a flashlight he can use and still use guns but as I recall the Doom Marine never got conked on the head and woke up in a trash compactor).

Weyland - A basic interstellar research and manufacturing company who has vested interests in controlling planetary resources. Creates a huge arsenal of weaponry, including a Smartgun and minigun. Jesus christ, not even Gordon had a minigun.

UAC - Teleportation, arsenal of ultra-heavy weaponry, and actual computer systems. For one, their teleportation is a lot cooler then BMRF's. Secondly, they can travel to other DIMENSIONS.

TriOp - Manipulation of space-time, ultra-badass AI, and one man who hits it all really hard with a crystal shard to make it all right. Plus, I don't recall gordon ever actually hacking into systems to disable them. As far as I can tell, Gordon was an inept tool.

Umbrella - Nothing about Umbrella strikes me as really that interesting. They have zombies, but so did UAC. They had AI but so did TriOptimum. And frankly, the zombies in Doom and the AIs in TriOp were a lot more interesting.
