I hate Hayden, he can't act for ****, he's partly why i dispise episode 2 so much, why must they taint the holy trilogy with his presence.

I'll be interested to see how well they fixed the horribly borked "jumping Solo" from the Greedo scene and Jabba scene.

The new Emperor dialog burns in hell. Empire Strikes Back really doesn't need Lucas to poo it up.

I never heard of the pink Vader rumor.

The major changes I'm personally annoyed at is the Emperor's dialog and Hayden at the end.
But I do like all the technical changes (texturing, sound, lightsaber coloring). THOSE are the types of changes they should make, not the stupid ones aforementioned.

Agreed. There's some stuff (like fixing graphical glitches on the Rancor) that I'm fine with. But changing the location of major plot devices by shifting it over two film hours in the chronology is out of line.
I also don't like the idea of re-recording Boba Fett's dialogue. He's got so little of it that it's the sort of thing you don't screw with.

George Lucas needs some serious help. Classic case of OCD coupled with a compulsion to take a dump on classic films.

[edit]And also, who in their right mind would think these "updates" are gonna be worth 60 bucks to buy the series again? GG marketing department!

You totally missed the point.

Anyways, as I've mentioned before its pretty easy to find bittorents of the DVDs made from the LaserDisc rips. Which are completely bastardization free. That way you can have star wars DVDs, the way you want them, while boycotting Lucas.

I'm with Doomeh.

Seeing as how my roommate is like the master ripper/encoder of all media, I'm going to hand him my original remastered Star Wars trilogy box set and demand that he make me digital copies. At gunpoint.

Come on. Is it REALLY that hard to release the ORIGINAL, non-special edition crap? Just remaster it, tinker with the audio or whatever, slap it on DVD, and maybe make all the extra stuff an 'option' that you can enable in the play menu? I really don't see why they're not doing it, I'm SURE they know how many upset purist fans they've already made upset...
