<div class="IPBDescription">Open Beta Now Available</div> You can grab the torrent for the client on their forums <a href='http://forum.neocron.com/showthread.php?t=109544&page=1&pp=15' target='_blank'>here</a>. Yes, you need to have a forum account there to get it, but if you were in the open beta for the first Neocron 2 years ago, your account should still work. The torrent should be available to everyone else within the day.

Anyways, its a cyberpunk, futuristc MMO, very much like Anarchy Online (or so I'm told, as I know nothing of AO). I was completely addicted the first time around, but wasn't able to pay for monthly installments. It looks like I'll probably be just as addicted this time around, and may end up buying it in the end.

So, as a founding member from the first beta, I will once again be spending the time and money necessary to once again found the clan Natural Selection: Rebirth. Anyone here is welcome to join up, as long as you're going to have fun. No psycho MMO players who get royally upset over PKers please. Its just a game, and a free open beta at that.

Once I've finished downloading, and the servers are up, I'm going to pick a server, if anyone wants to join up.

Iggy showed me it a few days ago, in graphics I would say it was on the same level as Morrowind. The PvP system should work pretty well, theres vehicles, aparments you can decorate, it plays like an FPS (think Deus Ex with spells) and probably has a bunch of other stuff I didn't get to see.

Now that I think about it, imagine a Deus Ex MMORPG <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' />

That reminds me... is melee still a complete waste of time? I heard they finally pumped it up thanks to my highly vocal uprisings on the forums way back but put them down again shortly after I left because some rocket launcher guys were complaining that they got skinned alive by a meleer who'd managed to survive being missed by their clumsy rocket launchers 3 times and closed the distance ~rolls eyes~

I can't believe I remember which hotmail account to activate to nab my password either... out of a possible 8 I guessed which one I'd set the account with right off the mark =D

In NC1 Melee Combat is a little overpowered.

Its lack of need for ammo also made it very profitable with high damage and no ammo costs.

Anyone else getting this feeling that 'Beta' is a new word for 'A buggy demo we released because it costs less money'?

Haven't played this yet, but look at all these betas all around... it's more an excuse to unleash incomplete titles for marketing then an actual beta. I'm waiting for them to make beta titles full games so they can keep saying 'oh well it's in beta don't complain' <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' />

I never played Q2, but this new version has had a graphics update. I think it looks very hot.

30 Hours left.. just like it said 7 hours ago.
God I hate Bittorrent.. I mean, if the horrible speed isn't trouble enough, it has to just randomly FREEZE my downloads. So I can't leave or let it run overnight because it'll stop 30 minutes after I go away and then I'll still have 30 hours in the morning.

Having played both, I assure you that the only similarities between NC and AO are the enviroment. AO has a very deep skill system and timer based combat. NC actually depends partly on your skillz and partly on your ability to handle FPS combat. Also, there is much more uncontrolled PVP in NC.

I cant use BT, or any P2P apps, I've turned of my firewall, allowed file/printer sharing under options and disabled the ICF. Anyone know what else to do?

No direct links available but iv got 9.5% in 14hours on 512k connection.

Makes me wonder what HL2 on steams gonna be like considering it jamed during pre-downloading some files.
