Looking For Good Anime Movie

<div class="IPBDescription">Help please kthxbai</div> Ok so my net flicks queue is empty, and I really want to see another good anime movie. Ive seen Akira, Metropolis, Totoro, and Princess Mononoke.

The Ah! My Goddess movie is good, but then again, I'm really biased on this; the movie might be slightly on the cheesy side for some people. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' />

Since you've watched Totoro and Princess Mononoke, you might be interested in some more of Miyazaki's work, such as Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind, Laputa, and Spirited Away.

Is there any specific genre that you particularly interested in?

I've only seen a couple of anime films but my vote goes to Spirited Away too. I liked it a lot.

some of other miyazaki's work include (some of which he directed, all of which he had a hand in creating):

kiki's deliver service - this one rates 10.5 on the cuteness scale
whisper of the heart - shoujo manga [girl manga] based movie. read: very high school romance style with very little fantasy in it. if you're into that kind of thing i guess...

p.s. i recommend laputa, with nausicaa right behind it. laputa is just so fascinating, it's better then nausicaa in that it doesn't play so much on the "save the world" thing, concentrating rather on creating one of the most convincing and astounding fantasy worlds i've ever seen.

Escaflowne movie if you prefer to watch the series summed up, with a better ending, but the stuff leading up to that ending is "eh", I prefer the series lead up to the ending... until the whole thing with the twins...

I wont suggest any, but I will recommend that you get the Japanese ones with subtitles if you can. Dubs take away from most movies. ^^

Laputa got me into anime and I love the rest of studio ghibli's works... I'm kinda surprised Porco Rosso didn't earn a mention as it's another fantastic piece =3

Jin-Roh is a very good movie too though a bit hard-going perhaps (though nowhere near patlabor in the slooooow stakes... you really need to be in the right mood to watch those ^^; ).

Memories is pretty neat.

Perfect Blue is downright disturbing and some scenes made me feel uneasy but still a fantastic movie.

Grave of the Fireflies is worth breaking out the wrist razors for... great but depressing as heck.

Though old as heck I'd see if you can grab the 3 Cyber Police OAVs. Not sure if you're counting OAVs as movies but I felt like throwing those in anyways <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' />
