<div class="IPBDescription">can anyone help me?</div> -.- I cant get the game to work...I downloaded 3.0, 3.0 b patch, and b4 patch or whatever, i install them all....and then!!!im missing a file or something....can anyone help me?

    Read Thansal's detailed guide of installation... No no no... Dont just look at it... Read carefully... Your problem is just because of wrong installation of patches... reinstall using that guide...

    And as for your sig question... You can post a request at sticky post in Artwork forum... Im sure there will be someone willing to make you a custom sig...

    your executable shouldn't be outa date

    Did you follow all the steps? (install steam, play hl via steam?)

    and get a scrn shot of yuor error msg (press ctrl+print scrn, and then paste it into paint)

    Windows store screenshots in clipboard; open paint program and paste the image from clipboard using edit - paste... then save the image...

    The clipboard is just an area of memory where data goes when you press Ctrl+C (Edit => Copy,) or Print screen.

    You have to "paste" (Edit -> Paste, Ctrl+V, or other means,) into an application to retrieve the data.

    Once you have "printed your screen" (a wierd phrase left over for when that button actually did PRINT an image of the screen,) follow these steps:
    click start, press Run, type:
    mspaint
    Press ok.
    An application "mspaint" opens. Press Ctrl+V. (If you feel more comfortable, click "Edit" on the top of the screen and select "Paste".)
    Save the image as GIF (file, save as,) then attach it to a post on the forums.

    Oh I should have guessed... You installed the dedicated server... You get the wrong installation files; It is for running a dedicated ns server over LAN or Internet...

    I assume you actually want to play the game in this case you cant with dedicated server...

    You have to download the files below; and install them... To avoid further errors and installation mistakes, please read Thansal's guide that I gave the link in my first post very carefully...

    If you installed the beta 1 and the two patches properly, You should have seen <b>Natural-Selection(beta)</b> in <b>third party games </b>section of the <b>playgames</b> window of <b>steam</b>... Double click natural-selection(beta) to start...

    If you dont see natural selection in games window then you could not installed beta 1 properly... and if you see and can open natural selection, but you cant connect to servers getting an error message like "client.dll differs" or "map differs" then you probably failed to install patches properly... either way... Read Thansal's guide very carefully and reinstall...
