what percent of the games you own have you beaten? I ask because I just came to the realization that I've only beaten about 50% of the games I own... probably even fewer than that... back in the day, when I was younger, I don't think I would ever not finish a game, but these days, I'm just so picky that I seldom bother finishing a game unless it's absolutely exquisite... and even then I sometimes don't... I just mentioned in another thread that I never finished deus ex... same with morrowind - I got a pretty built up character but the main plot didn't grab me enough to want to keep running across the world for various missions... I some more examples of games I own and never beat are thief 2, hitman 2, fallout 2, NOLF, MGS2, Alice, System Shock 2, GTA3, chrono cross...
I often get to the last level or mission in a game, and stop there, even knowing I could finish it without much problem... and then I stop, dunno why -- maybe because I feel like it's going to be anticlimactic, maybe I just feel like I'm so close to the end that it's essentially over anyway...
before I ramble any more, just want to know if anyone else is like this - do most of you beat every game you come to own?

I'm terrable for this, easily 80% of the games I own I haven't beaten, I have no patience with video games, and I'll admit it openly.

I haven't done blue shift, but then, I don't own it. I have beaten nearly every HL single player mod I have tryed (with the exception of that cowboys and indians one, which was crappy as high hell) But I own tonnes of games besides HL that have been unfortuneately neglected <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

i don't have a lot of pc games since i used to play MUDs and games like scorched earth a lot more than anything else.
and then i speedrun it ... several times over.
and then i go find a trainer/button code/whatever and exploit that to hell
and then i try to do it again without cheating deveice
and then, two years later, i see if i can still run through the game on easy
I've clocked every RE game I own, tho. Completed all Hitman ones, AvP games, but haven't really finished any of my RTS games. Dune 2000 once or twice, X Com only once, Terror from the Deep never, and so on.
I beat all the American FF games (4 and 6 thru 10), often multiple times, chrono trigger, ultimas 7, 7.5, 8, underworld 1 and 2... planescape... AVP2... tons of NES and SNES games, but not many of those took like 70 hours to beat... most sierra adventure games (buncha kings quests and space quests and quest for glories)... feh, I didn't want to list everything I've beaten because the list would be too long =P you can beat a lot of games when you've been gaming for 16 or so years.
the only reason I haven't finished system shock 2 is twice I got reallly close to the end, and then somehow destroyed my quick save file, by quicksaving at the beginning, or while dying or something... and had to start over...

Whoops! Let me add FM3 to that, along with homeworld, black & white. And I want to try the fallouts but I never seem to have a few spare bucks to get them, I'm always upgrading the PC.
...then again, they'd be great for my laptop being how old they are...
Also, I didn't like FM4 much. I dunno, the story just...it never EVER picked up.

Meh, I liked FM4, although I didn't really play THAT far into it, so its all entirely possible I would have gotten bored at some point... FM3 was my favorate game for the longest time <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I also have black and white, but I got really bored of it and never beat it (although it is an excellent game, gave me well over 20 hours of gameplay). Homeworld I have yet to try, I've heard a bit about it, is it worth it?

So I would say I finished only 2% of my games. The others I've beaten were HL OpFor and Halo, and Warcraft. Starcraft too.
