<div class="IPBDescription">'Phones + Mic!</div> Since you all seem to be knowledgable on the subject, can anyone recommend a good headset that will give me high-quality surround sound and a good mic in one package? I play my games late in the night, so speakers are not an option and of course there is a good mic behind every good NS player. My ceiling is ~$150.

    I have one. Forgot what it's called.

    But it gets the job done from when I need vocals for Jeskola Buzz songs. All I have to do is put my recordings through some Noise Reduction and then Normalize! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    But I dont remember what it's called. But I remember it was $30-40, and it gets the job done.

    When i bought the headset the price was $71.
    And now, they cost $19.5.
    With $71, it's still worth it.
    I have the headset for like hmm, about 4-5 months now and they rock <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I have a set of plantronics too the slightly cheaper version I think, the mike is voice recognition and no volume control on the wire but the quality is still good.

    AFAIK there is no surround sound headset, or if there is it won't be in your price range.

    Yeah, I don't understand why they wouldn't make a 5.1 surround sound headset with a mic. Its...stupid.

    ...I myself am just gonna get 5.1 headphones, then a "sit-on-your-desk" microphone. Both top quality though <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    For $50 I was able to get a pair of Altec Lansing AHS-502s from Best Buy with a 2-year warranty. Since then I've kicked them around, dropped them on my desk and stepped on the wires without a problem.

    They sound great, are comfortable, allow me to pinpoint the location of an enemy buy ear and the mic is excellent. I suggest you snag a pair for yourself.
