when no one is lookin
I was thinking...

Being geeks, we all got our quirks. But some of us are a bit more "out there" than others. So what sort of very geekish thing do you do when other people aren't around to laugh at you?

I find myself humming/whistling Mega Man 2 or Castlevania themes in the shower. :o

I whistle video game/Star Wars music just about all the time, although that's not really secret. Uh, my room is stuffed full of Star Wars stuff like shampoo, but that's not secret either. I spend hours a day at the computer playing games, programming, and animating but that's in pubic, not private. I read science fiction... in public. I guess I don't conceal my geekiness much.

I'd say I probly act a lot less geeky when there is noone around. When there is noone around I am very boring. But around people I am the biggest dweeb ever.

I don't hide my geekiness. I'm pretty good at fixing computers, so on my floor of the dorm I'm the guy you go to if you need emergency tech support, a cd burned, a new bit of hardware installed, etc.

It's great because anytime I need help (Hey I've locked myself out...; Can I borrow some laundry soap...; Can I use your printer? etc.) I get said help at virtually any hour.

Well, I was always deprived of a toy lightsaber as a child, but as an (just) adult, I do have access to a broom with an extendable, detatchable handle. Nuff said.

Watch Speed Runs. I think it's pretty geeky, I mean, you're watching someone else beat a video game as fast as possible... who cares other than Gamers?

ive taken part in multiple lightsaber battle films, complete with photoshopped in lightsabers. i always win. even mastered the art of the double bladed saber, and did it well. the hardest scene i ever did was me with double bladed, against 2 guys with single bladed. completely uncoreographed. and it looked damn good.

Whenever I player 2 player co-op on various games,
I point out an errors/clipping etc I see and then describe
how it could have been fixed.... in detail.
I've just started character modeling so I tend to mumble
about vertexes, points, render-passes, etc.

I'm surprised I don't get slapped more often :-P

As for humming video games tunes, i'm always humming
tunes from Ocarina Of Time and Sons OF Liberty.
Sometimes I quote a random line from Red Versus Blue and watch
the confusion.
Caboose: "I think it would be ironic if we all made out of iron."

Hmm... I fond myself saying Yarr alot when nobody is around....I tell myself that I need to conquer the world from the foul *enter disliked nationality here* before I start up a game of Civ3 or Rise of nations...when I take a shower I say out loud "I must clean the foul grime that hath infested my body..AWAY!" or something along those lines, oh, and I get drunk and play video games....

I don't know if those are geeky/normal/just plain weird.

I had a dream where I played DooM III. That in itself was unusual, since I'm not at all hyped up for it.

I tend to very much get into character when playing a lot games. I'll say "Yes sir" and "Acknowledged" when playing NS, and I'll speak in various accents for many of the nationalities in Rise of Nations and such (even though I do it only to amuse myself). Think of the Russian tank mission in Call of Duty; those are some of the things you might here out of my mouth ("How do you like that, Franz?").

hehe, I always just use that for candy and cookies (will network for food)

yah, all of my geek factor comes out all the time...

and my friends know the way to keep me happy is to feed me (I like food, nuff said) so inexchange for 24/7 tech help they all feed me

As for geeky things I do:
I am a gamer in both usses of the term (Video games and PnP RPGs)
I make charachters for RPGs for fun (dear god I have so many I will never use )

Side note, if you think making a PnP RPG toon isn't that much, wait till you try and spend 100,000,000 cash(surprisingly hard to spend it all and get all the stuff you need at the same time )

oh, and the fact that Ikeep on chuckling evily every time I think the phrase:

oh, and take your pick:

YARRR, We be undead Pirates! (referance to Warlords, a table top strat game made by Reaper)

or:
Yarr, We are the pirate who don't do anything!

/me whistles away

While I'm driving I try to read the License plates of the cars in front of me to see if they have any secret Leet meanings in their plates. My neighbors license plate is "4hax... something" Very amusing.
