just quick and simple answer needed
yeah the animations of the Marine player models in NS i personnally think are a bit rough (no disrespect to the dev team at all) just that im not too sure they are the best and if some one took the time to do it propper it would make the player models look alot better imho.

So i just want to ask it is possible to change the animations from the simple Idle1 animation to something different, yes???

cuz im planning on starting a project but i aint gunna suddenly tell everyone wat it will contain because i dont want to get everyones hopes up if i dont finish it.

so is it possible or not to change all the animations of the Marine player models (Heavy + Light)?

and are there any more progs to help me? i have milkshape ^_^ and HLMV is there anything else i need?

Yes it is possible, you may not be able to use the model on a server with consistency checking on it but it is possible with the program you have.

You can, but the look_idle and idle1 animations are only used in the readyroom. Ingame it it a blend between the weapon idle/fire anim (from BIP 01 upwards) and the walk animation (from BIP 01 downwards). I'm a bit unsure about when he is standing still, but this might use the idle/crouch idle anims, well, only their parts from BIP 01 downwards

MS3D's animation tools are very primitive though - with no automated way to smooth movements it is difficult to achieve natural-looking motion.

i use ms3d for all my animation and they look decent/good, ya just gotta know how to use it. I just hate how it tries to curve your animations inbetween keyframes to make it look good, ends up making my clip-inserting look like **** :/

I think ms3d is updating their animating stuff next version
