    I tried xsi...it was very very very complicated. You're probly better off with milkshape or a different program. I spent lots of time trying to figure out xsi. It seemed slow and was very confusing.(Maybe it was slow cause i had to have super resolution and my comp just sucks). My advice is to try a differnet program.

    Well, I have MS3D... but I need someone to tell me how to set it up so the tuitorials actually work... 0o'

    The default installation setup is different from all the tuitorials I've seen... Griz, what tuit's did you use?

    XSI isn't face by face modeling. It's mainly deforming basic shapes. Anywho just follow their tutorials, I promise they help a lot. You can find them at:

    <!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->C:\Softimage\XSI_EXP-for-HL2\EXPWeb\quickstart\tutorial_PDFs<!--c2--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    You don't have to do them in the order they provide but you should definately do one through six.

    Yeah. basic stuff really.

    U need to use the menu on the left hand side:

    Get -> Primitive -> Cube (there may be another menu to get to cube..i forget)

    Then press y....click on a face in perspective view, or drag over faces...then hold alt and right click (keep mouse button pressed down) and choose extrude along axis..

    Amazing...u've just done one of the most basic things in XSI!

    Thats the basis of how most models are formed, that and scaling and rotating vertices.
