You Should Be Able To Drop Your Jet Or Armor Pack.

This should be a must have. I really hate it when I spawn up, walk forward, and pick up a Jet-pack, when i really wanted a Heavy Armor pack, or vice versa, and not be able to drop the pack, like if you were to drop a weapon... Its really not a bug deal, but it would probably be easy to implement. Also, it would alot of ppl more satisfied, in my opinion anyways

Ya, that's happened to me quite a couple of times.

I prefer the Jetpack to the Heavy Armor anyway, because no one usually takes the Jetpacks so I get lot's of them and they are good when you are in some sticky situations you can just fly over the Hostile Player or Chamber.

Still, some people would find this a need in this mod, but I do not think it is at all necessary.

in my opinion, the inability to drop these "resource consuming opjects" is to avoid sharing. marines would only have to build a couple of each, and if a player wearing one of these was about to die he can drop it, then ta-da, a hand-me-down jetpack not costing any RP's for the marines.

Exactly. They're prototypes, so it's fair to assume that 'removing' them would very likely simply destroy them. And then there's the whole 'dropping on death' issue, which would be sticky.

So, in short, not now, maybe not ever.

There's a simple solution to the don't share RP-heavy items problem, and a simple place to put the 'discard the gear' selection too. Though, considering a GL costs 27, and a jetpack less... eh, anyways.

You can't ditch your knife anyways. With this idea, if you try, you ditch your current heavy armor/jetpack, if you're standing in an area where one could have spawned. I.E. If you run back to an Armory or whatever it's called, it makes sense that you can discard the armor/jetpack where you got it, but not in the middle of the level.

That make sense or seem reasonable?

almost, but i dont like the idea of it being re-used. id be all for it if you can ditch it into thin air so its not re-usable but then youd have the people doing it just to piss off the marine team.
