<div class="IPBDescription">Time</div>the game is a great idea. But you all know there are thousands of things to be fixed. Such as team balence and lag issues. I know this game has been worked on for a long time but still seing as many problems it has it seems a little rushed. Next version many things must be fixed and that update best come in at max a fe wmonths because im beginning to regret getting all excited.
No offense team but you have major issues that must be fixed!

when you say "team balance" do you mean some sort of function to automaticly even the teams or are you saying the marines are too strong? (i've heard that too many times now)

The thing is though that this is wrong, the marines and the aliens are perfectly balanced the only thing is that the aliens need some training before they get any good, I mean, everybody knows how to shoot and kill, but not everybody knows how to manouvre around to acctually manage to kill stuff as an alien, this will just take a little time, then I guess the teams will seem balanced enough.

Also, reading the main page it says they are working on the high pings, atleast I hope they are but hey, what can you expect NS are using totally huge maps (they have to) and the whole commander idea with the buildings and evolving and upgrading really takes a whole lot of bandwith I guess. and seeing as half life has player owned servers there isnt really servers with 2gig transfer rates.

I find the ping to be ok I haven't really noticed any particular annoying stuff with it yet, except elevators, gurr, damned those elevators *me kicks an elevator*
    ..
    ...
    ouch.

There were RealLife™ reasons why NS had to be released now. Also, it had to be released at some point, and the best way to see what the problems are is to release the game to the masses. This may surprise some people, but it has to be said: <i>Natural Selection is <b>not finished.</b></i> This is merely the first release. Considering the state many mods get released in, I wouldn't be so quick as to say we didn't take enough time making it.

Now that the game is being played by so many, the big problems will make themselfs far more obvious than if we had continued to playtest with our small PT team. Are you complaining that you can actually play the game now? Are you saying that you would rather still be waiting whilst we spent another month or more fixing problems which we weren't sure existed? If I were you, I should be grateful that we DID release now. Now YOU can have a say as to how NS evolves, and keep in mind that that is ALL NS will be doing from this point forth - evolving.

I personally think the dev team has done a VERY good job of handling the release. Like Merkaba and others have said, this is a first release. Don't expect it to be "<b><i>bug free</i></b>" because a first release just isn't like that. I'm very happy to have the mod in my hands. As soon as the servers have the lag problems fixed it's all over for those marines!!

guys just because the mod acquierd a sense of a professional game thorugh the unbeliveable dedication of its teammembers please do not loose sight of the fact that this is a mod in its "early" beta stages, i dont think you can seriously say that its lacking for what it is, and the major issuess should be done away within a short time so plz be patient some of us waited for over a year for this game, though it feels like 10, i think a day or two wont kill anybody,

It's not in beta stage neither final release. And even non beta software has bugs. <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->

Roll on that patch, Flayra... We'll se nice battles very soon  <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

This is Beta 1.  It was not rushed.  Not everyone runs a server as good as the ones NS was tested on.  The patch to fix the server CPU usage should be out tonight, that we may enjoy a happy weekend of lag-free gaming.

GJ team its a great mod, even if it lags ! At least its not a pure combat mod, you also have to build, think, manoeuver together, think, support the commander and think ! I often think I'm useless there, but suddently some buildings pops up and I end up building the most important oupost of the game <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> Everyone has an important role, more than in the «usual» mods, and thats what makes me love it, even if it lags ! GJ again !!!

I just gotta chime in on this one.
The team have taken alot of time and that's nice, but I have in my last 15-20 attempts at joining a server had insanely high pings (900-2500) and am unabble to move at all. AT ALL!

I manged to play NS for several hours earlier, but later when the servers started getting crowded I found it impossible to find a server that I could play on!!

Is this the ping problem? Because if it is then you people had better get it done SOON! and if it ain't..... then you better FIND IT and get it done SOON!!

Despite the usual "birth pains" that all games and MOD's have I think it's great.

HAIL TO THE GREAT FLAYRA AND THE NS TEAM!!!! THE DEVELOPERS OVER ALL DEVELOPERS!!!!!! <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

now excuse me, I need to get som sleep.
