No Children? Have You Tried Having Sex?

AeaAea Join Date: 2003-10-09 Member: 21552Members

... wow
A German couple who went to a fertility clinic after eight years of marriage have found out why they are still childless - they weren't having sex.

The University Clinic of Lubek said they had never heard of a case like it after examining the couple who went to see them last month for fertility tests.

Doctors subjected them to a series of examinations and found they were both apparently fertile, and should have had no trouble conceiving.

A clinic spokesman said: "When we asked them how often they had had sex, they looked blank, and said: "What do you mean?".

"We are not talking retarded people here, but a couple who were brought up in a religious environment who were simply unaware, after eight years of marriage, of the physical requirements necessary to procreate."

The 30-year-old wife and her 36-year-old husband are now being given sex therapy lessons while the university clinic undertakes a study to try to find out if there are more couples with a similar lack of sex education.

See... if these two were cavepeople, natural selection would be all over them like a pack of wolves. It's amazing that people need scientists with multiple degrees to tell them to do something that should be instinctive... And evidently neither had been exposed to email, the internet, movies rated higher than "C" for children, magazines, billboards, other human beings, etc... Sad really.

The drawback of people wearing clothes. If people didn't have to wear clothes, they'd probably figure these things out by accident.

Apparently it's impossible if your life is focused on religion.

...well, that's what I gather anyway.

see, this is the part i don't get... the stereotypes are conflicting. germans love sex and porn and their civil rights for homosexuals and lesbians are so much better than over here in the US...

and yet they're dull and boring

This is what happens with such oppresive religions. It forces people to lose their natural instincts and thus, such things like procreation and sex become alien and evil. If any religion promotes the idea that sex is "bad," then good. I don't want those idiots poluting the already highly poluted gene pool. Now if we had eubonics...

As for Germans being boring, hey, they started WWII! I mean, that has given us much enjoyment with vdeo games and movies. How can you say they are boring?

Just as a segue for more comedy....

I forget who, but some comedian (let's just say Dane Cook) thought it would be cool if we all had weird shaped genitalia so we could easily find *the one* we were supposed to be with.

"This isn't gonna work, you've got a star and I'm a crescent moon."

Anyone seen the short film "Ice Cream?" Saw it today in my screenwriting class, and boy does it seem to apply here. Except they actually get a baby. 3 times

I don't necessarily agree with sexual repression* (for lack of a better word) on religious/moral grounds - as a fact of life, it should be treated as such. However, I understand it, and normally don't really have any issues against it. I think this case, though, demonstrates there's maybe a little more work to do to at least have a little bit of awareness of the subject.

Hell, even the Catholic marriage book has tips for healthy sexual relationships and whatnot so you can get started (after marriage, of course)!

    * I don't mean in the sense of not allowing sex, or at least recommending (strongly) against it, but rather taking it so far as to completely ignore or deny its existence as a foul and awful thing never to even be spoken of.

And don't you mean... Eugenics? :X

And if you do, we did, don't you remember? Eugenic Wars of `96? Damn, those sucked.

This calls for a spoof of a 50's informational film.

WARNING: Loose language uses may not be suitable for younger readers.

Fade in as Timmy walks into the living room where his father is reading a newspaper and smoking a pipe.

Timmy: "Father, where do children come from?"
Father: "Well Timmy, let's go ask your Mother, she's out back sitting on a big ****."

Fade out, fade in to the back yard where a motherly figure is literally sitting on a chicken. Timmy and father walk in.

Timmy: "Mother, where do children come from?"
Mother: "That's an interesting story Timmy, but first help me choke this chicken so I can get to basting it."
Timmy: "But we just had lunch."
Mother: "This isn't for us Timmy, it's for my ****."

Cue a black cat to jump up onto a table or something in the shot.

.....much more loose language with lots of chicken and cat references.

EDIT: Awwww, weak, filtered. Time to play a puzzle, the first word is a 4 letter word for chicken that starts with 'c', second is a 5 letter word for cat that starts with 'p'

This is why parents should check the "Yes, I want my child to participate in the Family Life/Sex Education portion of seventh grade science."

I mean, don't traumatize the child, but make sure they at least know, I mean, damn, that's embarrassing.

Also, Liku, that's very probable... d:

priceless... and very GTA: VC-ish... 2 points, imo.

Sometimes life'd be simpler if you could believe in something so strongly you don't even figure other "simple" stuff.

It takes all kinds to make a world.

Unfortunately, it ends up being made by the weirdos, who aren't aware of the unspoken 'laws' and go out and do their thing anyway.

And, contrary to my opinion, on this matter I have to defend religion - the views, attitudes and actions taken by the religious does not neccessarily reflect the stance of the religion. It's the person's interpretation of the religion, and when it is forced onto them at an early age, and very consitently, of course they are going to have some irrational and radical interpretations.

But let's not go into religion, and just marvel at the incompetence of a few select people.

Doom: If they're that big of idiots, they may keep all the colored liquid stuff under their kitchen sink for their kid to drink when they have one. Unless they drank it themselves..

And I'm talking about oppresive religions. I know that religions don't say "No sex!" It's the people who interpret it that are at fault. Then again, that would help create my ideal civilization of highly intellectual killing machines capable of making weapons to destroy entire armies of Kharaa/Covenant forces with a single shot!

I think people are much better off having the information and making the choice whether or not to have sex deliberately, rather than not knowing and stumbling into it by chance.
