Where did this one come from?

<div class="IPBDescription">Mod announcement...today</div>I just pulled the trailer for this mod from fileshack, which I must point out again, was an amazing trailer. However before today I have seen or heard nothing about this upcoming mod. I'm actually suprised considering how impressive and new this mod looks, and how large the main site is. To be honest I would have thought this might have been mentioned somewhere else but...no where I have gone has had any word of this mod. I'm curious, are there any other sites similar to avault.com or another news site that had prier news about this mod? I would like to know if for no other reason then to be more informed next time.

There have been numerous news and interviews about NS on various game/halflife sites in the past o_O

But like they said, the PR blitz has started, which means it's going to get the word even more out there.

Well, as far as I know, they have kept a fairly low profile over the past couple of years, at least compared to many mods that tend to overhype before they have much done, and then underdeliver.

The NS team seems to have done the opposite. Not too much hyping until they are ready, and then OVERdeliver! That's why they're such a great team, Flayra especially.

However, I believe they have done had occasional models, or screenshots from time to time on various sites, like <a href="http://www.planethalflife.com" target="_blank">http://www.planethalflife.com</a>

PlanetHalflife has been posting news items about NS for a long time now... screenshots, avis, interviews, etc. Penny Arcade has posted about Natural Selection 4 times to date, and I'm betting we'll get at least one more mention before (or by) release. There's been a lot of news... not sure how you missed it.

Welcome Mindmeld. Truth is, it's extremely hard to get the attention of non-HL sites. They are quite biased against mods (IMHO, and I'm not saying they are wrong to feel this way) and trying to get ANY kind of info on any non-HL site has been difficult or impossible. Let's hope they start listening now.

I've been promoting NS in some CS servers with the message:

"www.natural-selection.org - Natural Selection - Out Oct. 31 - HL/CS Retail Compatible"

and about 4/20 of the people responded to me, I tried to exlain then just told em to check the site out. They said it sounded cool. So they might be on the forums sooner or later <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

I heard about it last spring or something. Didn't pay much attention to it though. Thought it was "just another mod".
Then this summer I actually read about how it worked. I was intrigued. And after seeing some very nice screen shots in september I can't wait to play it now.

Damn good thing its coming out Oct 31. I'll only have 18 days to play it then I have other games I've been waiting for, for only the last 8 years. <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

What amazes me the most though...
Such an amazing looking game... basically for free...

Intersting. I suppose I'll have to check out planethalflife a little more often. I usually check www.Avault.com and www.Fileplanet.com for gaming news. however they usually only post officail news or main games, not much on mod related games, until thier released at least. Would have been nice to have known about this mod while it was still being developed. Would have like to contributed more to it. I suppose now I'll just end up as more newbie fodder when this one is released. Well, can't wait for it to be released, I haven't seen anything in any of the normal CS servers I visit, or DOD.

i almost started doing that today, but then i banged my head on the desk and thought "what was i thinking, im trying to attract cs people to NS" its like asking demons to come play with me in heaven

I know the people somewhat that I'm advertising to, they arent punk kids like there are in some of the servers.

i promote ns in the cs server i play in <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> but i know 90% of the people who play there and there all pretty good people

It seems that no matter what other online game you go to...be it Americas army, DOD, CS, UT 2003. Some people there are worth playing with, and will gladly check this mod out...and others are newbie punks. I suppose it helps to know the guys in the server. One never knows who might be in.
