Thats just good old NS on the HL1 engine, back before release in the days of the NSTR. Back when the commander mode was activated by a button on the map, not an actual structure heh. Even now though that in-game particle editing looks impressive!

its got soundbytes from starcraft and models from CS, but there's also some sort of alien model that shoots gorge spit. I have no idea if this is official or not, nor do i know if this has already been posted here. THanks.

ive never seen it either actually. that model that spits the gorge spit is from the hl1 sp mode which shoots weird fly things.

yes, afaik there have been ai-controlled bots for commander testing

there was another movie of this period if the game showing them in action
