wii! I pre-ordered Zelda along with my wii so I'm all set for release day methinks :3
Not sure what to make of red steel... I might wait until someone else gets it to see if it's worthwhile. Admittedly I'm getting rather tied of shooting stuff; stuff with puzzley qualities, tactics or plain adventure are more appealing for me at the moment.
Gem, read bad things about it, mainly that it was semi-bland and the controls were somewhat clunky :X Might be fixed or at least improved at release. But yeah, you should probably wait for some reviews and stuff :S
I can't wait for people to start whipping the controller around so fast they rip the two ends apart. Just watch the ads with the group of people going pyscho playing tenis or something. Lots of spilt milk to come.

I'm debating whether to get red steel or far cry. I read that because of the complaints about the controls for the swords in red steel they were going to make the movements more open ended and less canned. If that's true i'd probably lean toward that.

When we got to Toys 'R' Us at 11 last night there were over 90 people in line for 80 units. We got to Walmart at 7AM. I was person 16 and they had 14 units (picture 1). We went to Target and there were 160 people in line for 70 units (picture 2). We went to Best Buy, and they had already handed out tickets for all of the 60 units they had (picture 3). The going rate of spots in line was $70, at least according to the one transaction I witnessed.
The nearest store (zellers, an hours drive away) that was carrying them had only four this morning. It's a 3 hour drive past that. Hope the next shipment comes in soon. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

"Ecchi"/pervert games are nothing new to Japan, and I'm pretty sure this is not the first time they have been seen on consoles. Its just part of their culture, and when systems are advertised with slogans such as "Touching is good" or play off the idea of trying to make games more interactive and physical... Well, its only a matter of time before someone makes a game like that.
On another note, Wii is amazingly fun. Much love to this system. Played Zelda just a few minutes last night, no arrows or swords yet, but the gameplay is intuitive and "natural", which surprised me. Only wish I could look around using the wiimote sensor with out having to zoom into his head...
Wii sports is a fun game, not just filler. For the first time, though, I think I'll buy a full fledged sports game for the Wii when I see it.
I bought Rayman, but I haven't played it yet. News on that later.

You mean Component right? Component cables are better than composite cables.
he means what he said, which is, lack of component cables on a HDTV makes it look all crap - so instead some wacky people have been pondering about getting a cheap non-HDTV for release day as component cables for the Wii were supposedly going to be a bit hard to get your hands on right away..
Em, it still looks better than the Xbox, which means it still is an improvement. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/marine.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::marine::" border="0" alt="marine.gif" />
Anyway, my question is that will Nintendo remove the free Wii Sports game later on? If so, perhaps I should buy a Wii soon.

Whats with the akward relationship between japanese men and boohbies? Whats with the whole fall-boob-OMIGASHKAWAII thing? Like, we have slip-in-bananapeel and in the far east you have slip-and-faceplant-to-nearest-boobies-followed-by-awkward-blushing-and-stuff?
Like that metal gear snake eater parody, that is made with the actual engine, where raiden trips and stuff. And whats with that Yu-gi-oh, whats wikth the egyptian dragon thingy with two mouths?

This is very, very true. I originally had my Wii hooked up to my 27'' Widescreen HDTV through the composite cables included and everything looked terrible. Wii Sports was alright, but being that its not the most graphically intensive game ever, thats probably to be expected, but more complex looking games like Red Steel turned into mud on the screen. However, upon plugging the Wii into my parents 30'' 4:3 Standard Definition TV, Red Steel suddenly became fairly vibrant and quite pretty actually. Everything just cleared up on the SD TV.
So, yeah. I'm going to wait until I can get my hands on some component cables before trying my Wii on an HDTV again.

If you like Wiisports and el minigames you could check out <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_Play" target="_blank">Wii Play</a> I'll probably get it as it comes with an extra wiimote and minigames are always fun :S
Hmm.. you could also check out <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rayman_Raving_Rabbids" target="_blank">Rayman Raving Rabbids</a>, for your action-platform needs :S plus it has manical rabbits bid on WORLD DOMINATION! and plungers.. so yeah.

Well, once more come in (anyone know the next shipping arrival date?) I'll be planning to pick up Zelda and Red Steel at the very least. COD has never really interested me.
Definitely picking up a copy of that adult game for laughs if nothing else; I still have a copy of Custer's Revenge somewhere.
Here's hoping they bring out a new F-Zero, and a new Pikmin soon. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
uh... just so you know DHP, but rayman on the wii isn't a platform game sadly; it's yet another multi minigame collection.
The 'story mode' basically has you playing 4/5 minigames each 'day' and each day rayman survives unlocks more minigames. No platforming here! nothing to see! move along!!! :3
I wasn't that fussed about wii play til I actually read about it. think I might get it along with warioware smooth moves. Those'll be the only two minigame games I'll buy except maybe if a good marioparty hits as well XD
Aww <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> well, it has BUNNIES SET ON WORLD DOMINATION
Played Rayman last night, bought it expecting Dreamcast platforming goodness. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The minigames were heckova fun, and had we been able to find the other nunchuck, the wife would have joined me (although I found it this morning, so expect MP goodness tonight).
The minigames are interesting, from shaking the controller in a running motion to using the nunchuck to reload, and shooting rabbits with plungers. I love it so far.
I have Zelda, Wii Sports, and Rayman. I've preordered NFS:Carbon for my son, but I think I'm cancelling it for Cars (his favorite movie of all time). I'm not too interested in Red Steel. I am looking forward to Mario Kart Wii and/or Mario Party, but I've yet to hear about either.
