if your clan members are admining the server and dealing out bans to clanners for whatever reasons then its useless to ask people to "keep the two things separate"

regulars are cool but shouldnt be trusted in anything else than rt/mc building

Most of the FAT clan members are not even involved in CAL.

But our involvement in CAL benefits our clan and the community. As we get more involved in the competitive scene we will begin recognizing more and more people. This way when one of the regs says, "OMG HAX ON NSCOMPPLAYER!" I can say, "I play with this guy in CAL. He's ok."

edit: When people smurf and wh0re up the server it makes things unclear. If you are one of the people that smurf, wh0re up the server, get banned, and go joke about it...I guess you are dealing the end result on yourself. So don't complain.

Just curious, how is being upset by something over the internet which has some of the most offensive people and media more silly than say, broadcasting an internet radio show with a barely two-digit listener base?

I'm pretty sure the "random attacking" was the result of his namecalling, but great counter point as I can always expect from this forum. You're allowed to broadcast a zany and silly radio show, prance around like you're myg0t, and dedicate your time specfically to **** off other people, take money from your own pocket and put it on the internet, but being annoyed or offended by anything on here is totally out of the question and you're only whining. Love that double-standard.

And great cheapshot firewater, you're too awesome for me. Owned man, really. You taught this n00b.

Hardly a cheap shot, just putting things in perspective.

You criticized, NSradio (for whatever reason I do not know) I criticized your team's ability to draw a crowd.

Everyone has a tolerance point for how much slaughter they can watch. At first maybe people will watch most of it, but if the result is the same game after game, then there is no point.

Clever phrasing, nice try. I didn't criticize NSRadio, obviously I find it entertaining (meaning they do their thing, and well in my opinion) a lot because I even went out of my way to say that I listen to it all the time in case some moron decided to interpret it as a flame of NSRadio. But go figure, here we are. Your analogy is a terrible one, and you're just simply looking for a spot to flame somebody based on your convenient misconceptions as always (yes, you seem to like to do this all the time, e-peen much?).

Not even sure what your last few sentences are about. If you're implying we get slaughtered in scrims (because at this point that's all we've done) all the time, your ignorance is astounding. This is a perfect example of how skewed some people's perceptions are right now, and it's really unnecessary.

less taking this seriously, it is the internet for crying out loud

people forget stuff like ignorant server admining slowly, use your energy (seeing as you have a lot of it) to win games and make yourself better at the game if youre so keen to be accepted by everyone rather than making threads about it

Yeah I didn't agree with the premesis of this thread either. Just would like to clear up some things because trust me, Matt is a good guy, admin, and fun player. Anything we (the competitive team) do we try to do in good taste. Let's just get this crap out of the way and get along.

OldF used that logic (or just one in particular), I don't think they made it past week 3. New teams get rocked. Its what happens. This is because pub ns is a different game than comp ns. Everybody loses when they play a game for the first time against people that play it every day. So in things like prediction threads, of course nobody is going to predict a win for you against a team that has played at least one match more than you. And they might even say *gasp* that you suck. Don't take it as an insult. Cause really, when was the last time you even dropped a second hive against a delta team? Just chill and figure out how to play better. And ask people for help, almost any team that slaughters a new team will give some sort of help afterwards if asked.

I do remember saying that you have improved, and you were playing at a very high level. I don't remember the exact words but that is the notion I conversed. This is clearly a "180" from when we first met. You did suck, then you adapted, and played on a team that beat the one I created a few times. (go iRiot)

I am capable of admitting when I am wrong. I just try to be right a lot more than I am wrong.

    To FAT-ns

The fact that I am saying that you won't last till week 5 is a prediction based on evidence that I have seen.

The fact that some of your members need to stop getting insulted on the internet seriously affects their ability to play.

To put it another way, they are paying attention to what people are saying about them over the internet rather than completely focusing on the task at hand.

Surely the author of this post is not alone in this sentiment, otherwise I do not think he would have posted it.

Also getting advice is great, but learn how to think like the top players. Find the flaws in their strategies (ALL strategies have flaws) Do not copy their strategy down to the T. Leave room for improvisation (ESPECIALLY as a commander).

Keep an open mind (despite what pub-allstars say, competitive players do experiment with different strategies/tactics).

Try something new. It may work it may not. But you will not know unless you try.

Some of you are making that guy from Dashboard Confessional look like a John Wayne stoic. Seriously, why are you still talking about this? I don't think that anybody really cares about the emo side of CAL except the people who are wrapped up in mediocre clan/server dramatics.

    [FAT],

Cease caring. "Somebody made fun of me over the internet" is not a valid reason to complain, let alone subject the General Discussion forum to it. You can ignore it or cut yourself, but either way it won't make your NS game any better. If you're a "for fun" clan, the rantings of the serious shouldn't really phase you. If you're out for serious competition, you should be too focused on your goal to notice the mud-slinging of the mentally deficient.

Also, you shouldn't change the server around because clanners were making fun of you. [FAT] was pretty successful with the old formula and while I'm sure the prospect of another vanilla NS server has sent CWAG into a masturbatory frenzy of joy, plugins do tend to get more players. Do what keeps your server full and popular.

In other news it's entirely possible to continue in competitive NS without actually talking to people outside your clan besides for setting up scrims and matches. Ban idiots from your channel and /ignore them in channels you can't ban them from. It's never going to be a requirement that a good player also be a mature/reasonable player, so just deal with it now.

How you get treated in CAL is all in how you act with the other clans. Take my old clan, No Dice, we completely sucked. We did not win a single match (except be forfit) and only tied once. We never got any bad treatment, infact we were treated quite well. The reason was in how we acted. I never looked at teh other clans as stuck up or anyting, just clans I could learn from. I even made a post in the CAL forums asking for advice on how I could improve the clan, and got some excelent feedback. The problem you are looking at now is how you introduced your self. A topic like this does not make the greatest impression, so now you will have to fight your clans first impression. When making a post related to CAL, you have to take both Maturity and Politics into account, otherwise you end up shoting yourself in the foot.

Anyways, it is good to hear that there are some new clans out there. Good luck to all in the next season

Way way back in season 1, my team ^? was one of the three or four 'new' teams in CAL. Almost everyone else had tons of experience testing 1.1 for months, and we were still just trying to figure out what was what in 2.0. Hell there weren't even Delta and Omega divisions, just East and West. Still, we acted chill and the other teams were cool and gave us pointers. Sometimes the HAMS would sing Judas Priest songs with us over voice. We didn't make retarded threads like this. We scrimmed our **** off and made the play offs the next two seasons.

I suggest you do the same.

I believe when the original author created this thread, it is pretty much too late.
