As some of you may or may not know [FAT] has recently signed up and began preseason CAL play.
Obviously it's our first season in CAL. We've been overmatched and playing on retarded maps. So what if we lost. We are going to make mistakes and we are going to learn.
We are trying to get involved in the competitive scene to help keep this game alive and bring what skills were learned in CAL back to our pub community.
I know a lot of you oldies don't appreciate how we've run our server in the past. <b>Let bygones be bygones</b>. We've grown as a clan, community, and server operator.

Although it is humorous when someone's serious comeback is "do you have any idea how much we're gonna make fun of you?" Yes, someone actually said that, and someone on this forum, too. Good stuff.
Matt as one of the original server owners takes a ridiculous amount of heat compared to anybody. In truth he's one of the most open minded server admins you'll come across. It's just that if one of the other server owners banned somebody in the past, [FAT] as a whole sticks by the other admins decisions as justified at said time. In short, they don't let themselves get pushed around in the least. A lot of people have no respect for the self-righteous admin, and well that's nothing new, but pretty silly and childish. "E-authority?! Who do they think they are?! This personally affects me, I need to (ironically) generalize an entire server base in retaliation."
Anyway, Matt is not your enemy. He's usually never the offending party in unjust bans. Also, the competitive team is NOT the same as the server admin group. But keep asking me why me or DBB ban CAL players, and why we have blockscripts on our server (see: bs_0 currently). I'll know to dismiss everything you say as the ignorance of a neglected child.
To any of the obvious flamers who will come, I like to think it's an interesting challenge. Link the topic to your "LOL RAGE" ventrilo and IRC channels. Personally I don't find "the community just is this way" as an excuse, though. People can take personal insults pretty well but when others start generalizing your friends, peers, race, etc. we all tend to get a little peeved.
But as a server? I hated you guys. I got banned from your damn server for asking who or what "TAU" was. So much for fair and impartial admins.

This thread is really a bad idea.
Requesting the insults to stop will only keep them comming, because the people who are insulting you are getting a reaction that they want.
They want you to make posts like this and you did.
If you want the insults to stop, I suggest ignoring them, and learning from your mistakes (as I read you are doing).
Another question is why do you think seasoned competitve players are insulting you?
Did you maybe do something to them in the past that would explain their insults?
Also, blaming the map is pathetic, and warrants more flaming. The team(s) who have beaten you played the same map, as well as everyone else who is competing right now. If you are going to make excuses, you might as well go back to being a pub, because the competitive community doesn't need teams that make excuses for why they lose.
If you want to let bygones be bygones, I suggest unbanning those who were banned. Thats what NSA did and they thrived very well because of it.
Watch your demos, and correct your ineffciencies, cut people who don't fit the bill, and grow as a team.
There are going to be trash talkers, just leave to what it is, TALK. Rise above it, don't let someone get you raged over the internet.

3.)Complaining about it is going to just be adding fuel to the fire.
4.)I was smurfing on a pub and saw someone in your team do the exact same thing to my team, which is alot more experienced and better skillwise.

I really don't give a damn what people say about me over the internet, why? Because it dosen't matter. I play NS to have fun, nothing else. And regardless of skill I told my clanmates that if any of them start drama or insult people with out base, then they're gone.

I've seen a pub team gone competitve do that and their leader uses/used that as justification to hate the whole clan community.
Whats even sader is that this guy is "respected" amongst the higher ups.
It happened alot to my old clan. But I refused to make a thread like this one.
nothing you can or anyone else can do. they talk, then they talk. if i took all the trash talk and got all hurt, there wouldn't be aero in CAL right now. play the game and thats all you can do.

I already lifted all bans at one point AND apologized.
*edit*Here's our server rules <a href='http://fat.bossgames.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=97#97' target='_blank'>FAT server rules</a>They are very liberal, but enforced. Note the one rule I emphasize most.
We've even done so much as to go mp_blockscripts 0 and NS_ only and we still really get the server going a few times a week now (whereas it used to be full most of the time when we were "abusive" admins with lots of plugins).
Anyways, whether you think this topic is good or bad I'm just letting you guys know we are here. Make the best of it. Be good sports. Keep this game alive.

But it was definitely not a fair playing field. Exigent could have had the first half if they didn't freeze every minute.
Anyways, it's not like the clanners insulting Exigent are better, just surly ****.
