So Im realeasing all my HL stuff. This pack includes:

* 15 .rmfs, including CO_PARAGON, TS_SHADY, DM_FETID, SW_COLDSTONE and many more...
* 181 custom made textures
* Many custom made skyboxes, models and sprite
* .rad files

    Textures I can understand and skyboxes, even unfinished maps.     This definitly helps mappers alot, new and experienced mappers alike.

    i would but then again my 'might come in usefull' and 'might finish someday' folders probably arn't nearly as impressive as yours.

    There are plenty of mappers that do it. There was one particularly impressive mapper for single player HL that released all of his sources.

    Personally, I wouldn't be that opposed to releasing mine, but I doubt anyone could learn from them. And I would be kinda embarassed to have people seeing how messy I am. smile-fix.gif

    hmm thats my gift to the community, theres no point on keeping old rmfs to yourself if you can help other people. Im not sure if anyone will learn something from my messy maps but at least some of them can get something out of it.

    About co_paragon: my aim was to try and make it official but it needed too many tweaks and I wasnt willing to work on that anymore. If any of you guys want to fix what needs to be fixed that would be superb~

    I really should take a look at it at least.

    Im allways interested how other people do similar things. and you can easily judge a mapper by his architecture wink-fix.gif

    To clarify, I would consider doing this, but only if I was giving up mapping for good (or mapping for a certain engine, or more specifically, using a different mapping editor).

    I'd want credit for my work and try to advise new mappers to imitate and not cut and paste. You haven't learnt anything properly until you can do it yourself.

    So by all means, use this work as reference. The textures can be used for mapping and used in turn as reference for aspiring 2D artists. I don't disagree with sharing experience and assets or I would never give any constructive criticism on these Forums. The more open this information is, the stronger the mapping community (one of the main reasons I'm -slowly- working on the Mapping Guidelines thread), but everyone who maps knows that its a long, hard process and that there are no shortcuts. Or if there are, they don't get you anywhere, really.
