well I was at ground zero when charlie hit last year and it was the most horrific thing I have ever been through. this one looks like another monster so hopefully it will weaken and turn out into the gulf, but the waters around the keys are suggesting that it won't happen, but I'll pray.

I never took hurricanes seriously before, living in florida all my life (miami and then moving to the west coast of florida) you'd think I would, but you can't really understand the raw power of one of these things until the eye drags over your town and does what they do. it was surreal waking up and seeing the national gaurdsmen stationed around town checking people comming in and out of the city. but people pull through and rebuild, at least emergency management had some practice last year so hopefully they will get their act together if another one plows through.

    Hurricane... Dennis.

Doesn't quite strike fear into a man's heart. Hurricane Cancer or Hurricane Ebola would have been the better choice.

Mmm what's the hurricane rating on Dennis now?

We got hit by a hurricane sometime in 1998-1999 and it did cause a big mess. Nothing horrible though.

Good luck to those who are living in the areas that are gonna be affected though. You're gonna need it <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Wow, if only Americans could harvest that energy and become a little bit more environmentally friendly. Definately should be something thats looked in to.

    Don't you know it.
I was born during that one hurricane that hit England in the 80's that everybody said wasn't a hurricane, then it blew a bunch of stuff down and they were like "Oh yeah, it totally was."

We probably won't have to evacuate, it'll probably pass by like every other hurricane does.
