Sometimes people don't say hello because they're too deep in thought or distracted. I've had that happen a few times both ways; once or twice I've said hello and had to run up and tackle them to wake them up or I've had people poke me to make me realise they were there :p
4-7 guys that I count as my best friends, walk through fire for each other, that sort of thing. Also another 4-5 gals that I kind of look at as my big/little sisters. Probably another 10 that were like that, but for various reasons we've drifted apart a little. Another 6 guys that I'm good friends with, probably about 13-14 girls in this catagory as well, then there's probably a group of a good 40 people that I count as aquaintances.

and yah, I have about 5/6 ish people I would count as near family a slew of people that are 'friends' and then a multitude of acquaintances.
I am a naturaly outgoing person, and I will talk to any one
oh, and you know what? Alot of my Friends are online only. alot of my acquaintances are online only.
I'm really friendly so everyone seems to like me, but I'm not very good at getting close friends coz I'm a shy and nervous sob. So I have probably 5 or so 'best' friends that I hang out with/talk to frequently.
Might be at uni end of this year, so I'll have to start again. Booger.
I only have like maybe 3 friends that I consider real friends.. But then again there's only one "friend" that I can trust with anything and that would be the girlfriend.. 99% of people suck so why would you want to be their friend anyways?

Do you have to go outside to meet this "friends" thing? Isn't that dangerous. I really don't trust that big fireball which just happens to float there. Yeah how conviniant, and as soon as I'm not looking POW!!!
<_< >_>
People who tolerate me I consider friends. Or people I haven't seen for a while and the first thing I say to them when I see them is HEY. If they respond they are friends, if they run I will force them to be friends with me, the "/poke" tactic works wonders in situations like that...
It's interesting to see who your 'true' friends are when you start to graduate high school and transfer from one college to another. Whether it's losing touch or telling eachother off the last week of being there, it's amazing how many actually stick together.
When I was in high school, I had tons of 'friends'. However, when I graduated, I soon realized that only 4 were real friends. I have not talked to any of the others since. But one of them had gone through losing her mother to cancer our senior year, and she changed. We hung out the week of graduation, but I have not talked to her or seen her since her graduation party. She changed and ended up dropping out of college and her younger sister dropped out of high school. It was a sad situation. Another one of them went into the army and has spent the last 4 years in Germany. He came home this summer, and it is a relief. But I still don't get to see him, as he is on the east coast.
The other 2 are what I call 'real' friends. We talk on a regular basis and know what's going on in each other's lives.
Then there is the boyfriend...
So that would make me having 4 friends. And the family that I am not angry with.
A small network of friends (5 or 6) is all I have / want / need. We are pretty tight, and therefore open with each other. I like my friends to be diverse also, not like me. This way you expand and learn more.
I can count the number of friends I have on my hands (excluding online, I can't define 'online friend' clearly). That isn't a bad thing though - knowing a lot about them, spending lots of time with them is better than knowing a small part of lots and lots of people, and not getting to spend any amount of significant time with them. tbh

I guess I've been pretty blessed.
