Hasn't every other NS league died after 2 weeks of its birth though?

Its ridiculous that something couldn't be worked out so that the delta finals could actually be played and the 300 specs could see a game.

But its also ridiculous to talk about boycotting CAL.

Can we all try to be grown ups regardless of everyone else?

On another note 300 Specs certainly signify interest in competitive play is waning...

I guess NS is truly dying....

For someone who likes to play by the books, perhaps Hsu forgot about the "I can change the rules whenever I want" clause on the bottem of the rules page.

Being that this topic is about the cal finals and issue of rules I will post what happen to us. Normally I wouldn't bring it up because we won but its an issue that I think needs to be address.

During the nsbox vs co2 final I lagged out on ns_lost. It was my job to drop second hive chambers. Just as I got 50 res I lagged out. When I go to rejoin the server I find out the pw has been changed from the one that was given to us. This resulted in the chambers not being dropped and ultimately we lost the round. Lucky for us we were still able to fight our way back to a win overall.

People lag out all the time. It happens. I do not think the other team should be alowed to block you from rejoing the server. Its their responsiblity to inform the other team of the server pw during matches.

What do you guys think? If this doesn't get changed then I would suggest all teams change the pw after the other team connects so if one of them drops they won't be able to return.

If only Nadagast would of used our server from the start...then a real finals could have taken place

The password was the *original password* to the server, the default one. I had switched the password on tanith, but it went back to the original connect information I gave you guys after we changed maps to lost.

Should've still been in your console by scrolling up. I did not realize that when the server changes maps it reverts back to the default password. Miscommunication that wasnt done on purpose.

300 disappointed spectators.

Oh well, BF2 is out, that will generate more interest than NS seeing how they have well over 100 teams.

wow why didnt you guys just deal with it... in hockey if some of the players have a problem with the ice they dont flipping cry about it they deal with it and wait for the next game which will be played in their arena. why didnt you guys just flipping take the loss of one round and play the second map on the second server. dont expect everyone to change everything for you just because its not working out

I would think the hockey players would be upset if their goalie was only in the game 2/3s of the time.

You know that bad ice in hockey applies for EVERYONE on the arena, right. Pings / spikes dont.

It sucks because Terror got robbed of having a legit win under every circumstance. Winning against a crippled team or a having "giveme" rounds just doesn't give any satisfaction. Now, everyone can say - with all truth - that Terror only technically won. After so many weeks of work, Terror only gets to claim "We are the techincal champions!" - what a rip-off.
• GoDlolGoDlol Join Date: 2005-01-08 Member: 33703Members
if someone is hockey gets injured they are out of the game, exi had 3-4 injured players and had to keep playing.

I feel very sorry for some of these teams that were moved up to delta, they have absolutly no chance of winning anygames and it will probly be the death for most of them, and I dont see any team that can stand up to terror besides nc and I dont think they have what it takes to beat them either.

Oh the flip side, newb, exigent were robbed out of the chance of holding their title. I doubt they're particulary flipping happy about it either.

they should just play veil sometime and we can unoffically declare this **** done or something

What I don't get is how the admins allowed this to happen, if for no other reason other than to not waste the time of 300 people that match should of been played and both teams should of bent over backwards to see it happen, be it reschedule, changing servers etc etc. I'm pretty sure bending the rules just a tiny bit is worth it so that the delta season final isn't a god damn forfeit.

Short of a concussion, injured players would keep playing unless they enjoyed being crybabies to which the rest of the team would make fun of them, or so my 10 years as a goalie showed me. S**t happens, but you put up with it and give it your all. That's called sportsmanship. Ever heard of a delay of the Stanley Cup finals because a player sprained his ankle?

Why put up with it when you could take 5 minutes and switch servers and have a much more fair game? *rolleyes*

Terror could have easily played us if they had agreed to take 5 minutes to switch servers after the first half... I mean, is that really unreasonable?

Terror agreed to switch servers if we forfeited the 2nd half of the Origin game. No thanks...

We "forfeitted" (funny I use that word, because we had and still have full intention to play) completely, rather than allow terror to get an automatic 2-0 win on origin. That would require us to 2-0 on veil to tie, which is completely unfair.
• ultranewbultranewb Pro Bug Hunter Join Date: 2004-07-21 Member: 30026Members
You mean Terror wanted the "giveme" round? I'm shocked. [Insert sarcasm meter here] Winning from a "giveme" round or a flat-out forfeit is just as equally worthless. To put this in perspective, Obscure made it to the semi-finals after playing a very horrible season - I suspect mainly because of the many forfeit wins we had in the first weeks of the season. So, our placement in the finals just feels like a big Special Olympics giveme gold medal.
