    The SourceSDK hammer is used to modifying Source games. NS is built on Half-life, not Half-Life 2 therefore you can't use the Source Hammer for editing NS maps.

    There is a mapping help and trouble shooting forum at the top of this page where you should be able to search and find the answers you need to download and set up Hammer for making NS maps.

    you <i>can</i> use the source version of hammer to make hl engine maps, but its a pain in the behind to get it to work properly.

    goto the verc collective website and download hammer 3.4, and the 3.5 patch. you might have peoblems getting those files from the verc collective, because alot of their files have recently had broken links.
