Actually that was STS-107 that disintegrated upon re-entry nearly 2-1/2 years ago. Technological advances since then have greatly minimized the chance of such an event occuring on STS-114.
It should be noted the primary the focus of their mission will be testing and evaluating new Space Shuttle flight safety, which includes new inspection and repair techniques. This will also lessen the chances of future STS-107 type mishaps.
