    Corruption is the bane of judges.

    Edit: Oh, and when we have two people replying to the same picture, let's go with the picture the first guy posts, yeah? He WAS faster, and the other guy should have checked for new posts before submitting his own.

    I just click "Preview Post" and check whether there are any new posts since the one I'm replying to, then click "Add Reply" right away if there aren't. Even less chance for a mishap. I'm not complaining about the mishaps, they're bound to happen. But it should be common courtesy to reply to the first post, not the second one.

    "This here pen will explode if you click it three times in a row."
    It would be a small thing for him to make it once instead...

    Edit:

    Look, I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing here. Let me explain what I mean:

    Person A posts a picture. B starts writing a reply to it. While B is writing, C starts writing a reply - also to A, since B hasn't posted yet. While C is still writing, B posts. C posts when he is done.
    We now have two replies to A - B and C, in that order. What I am saying is that since B was faster (and cannot have been at fault - nobody had posted yet at the time he did, while C might (or might not) have been able to spot B's reply in time), his is the post that the next person, D, should reply to. Especially since D is aware of the whole situation: D cannot have seen C's post before B's post, so he chose to ignore B's post. B was essentially punished for being faster.
    What I am asking, quite simply, is that when you are D, please reply to B's post.

    Naw, I don't think so - much ado about nothing. If the replies are within a minute, or even 2 of each other I'd say the user made an effort to be current. If you're in the mood for criticizing, scan this thread again and note all of the links rather than images. Makes the thread very difficult to follow.

    This thread has done a MUCh better than the one opened last night, and may actually survive IF it procedes as it has thus far. Let's keep it clean guys and dolls, don't use the forums bandwidth, and stick to the posting rules.

    About the pen image - I'm at a loss, particularly with that caption. Is this image in the hunt, or did you just post it to post it?

    This Q can escape anything!
  • lolfighterlolfighter Snark, Dire Join Date: 2003-04-20 Member: 15693Members
    I'm sorry, I thought my caption made it clear enough: That's Q, the guy who designs Bond's gadgets. Now, I think that ball pen was the one he used in Golden Eye (and for the sake of the argument, we'll say it is): It worked like an ordinary ball pen, wrote and everything. But if you clicked it three times in a row it'd explode after a short delay unless clicked it again to dearm it. Now, it would be easy for Q to re-purpose it to arm with only a single click, causing Bond to blow himself up the very first time he used it.

    <img src='http://www.ralphmag.org/1/letter-R-186x184.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    R is the next letter in the alphabet, and thus outranks Q.

    A great novel/movie. However...

    <img src='http://www.wizards.com/global/images/magic/unglued/Censorship.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    ... censorship makes short work of it!

    Okay, it's a magic card. I couldn't resist. I found it while searching for censorship. YES, it's a magic card. Ignore that part and just go with the censorship part, okay? I'm not posting the same card five times, am I? Okay okay, I'm leaving. Don't touch me. I'm leaving alright?
