    Pub games can go either way like that. Technically on public servers the marines should win more as it is easier to be a competent marine than a alien, along with the guidance from one player (communism) than that of democratic alien side.

    The extra 5+ armor was added because of what? I think I read a dev said for aliens to actually use parasite and use teamwork to win? Many people still don't do this anyways. Heck in B5 all we did was parasite and or used our ears to our advantage. Basically this <b>5+ armor was an absolute waste to me</b>.

    I honestly find it really hard to take feedback seriously when it contradicts itself like that. If you want to rephrase it because the words didn't portrait what you really meant, please do so.

    As of why the +5 extra armor was added: To give the early marine a boost by surviving another bite. If the aliens use more parasite and more teamwork because of it, it's just an indicator that the game isn't fully played out yet.

    And how long have you played NS? If people gets bored with NS after a so long time, I do not think what the game is now is a failure in any way. People quit playing every game every day, but a lot of that is because different attention spans. I've even heard of soccer players quitting because they got bored .. Are the game rules wrong there too? I understand that you do not enjoy the game as much as you did, but I do not think you would enjoy it today if it was still in beta 5 either with such statements. That being said, I play both CS and DoD quite a lot. WoW too. But I still think that NS is an awesome game.

    We'll yeah I guess it was a bit contradicting. So i'll just blame it the lack of sleep for now. What I'm trying to say is the 5+ armor boost was worthless imo. Because I've always parasited. Being in competative play it's kind of an instant thing to do, well to me atleast. Its the man thing that kept aliens alive because we would atleast parasite one guy out of 3 and then give feedback. The most teamwork in just a little thing. Pubbers I rarely see use parasite even with the magical +5 armor of doom. To me it is just an indicator of pubbers still not willing to use parasite because they'll miss the first 3 shots. And probably end up +jumping there way to that Marine and end up dieing anways.

    Been playing NS since the day it came out. Loved every version. Got in to competative play around 2.01ish. Wasn't exactly the parasite man I used to be back then because I was learning \o/

    What I'm trying to say is the game is not exactly boring. It just sucks in the balance factor. I've never seen so many alien ties before in my 3 seasons of play. Sure a lot of people say 2.01 was great in balance but I never played it to it's full extent. B5 was my highlights and thus in my eyes was the greatest version.

    Strange, heh. Some folks in this thread say that +5 armour is overpowered because skulks still don't parasite. Remember after 3.03 came out how many threads complained that +5 armour was a NERF because skulks started to parasite EVERYTHING?

    Neways, back to 3.04.

    More ammo reserve for marines. If a 3.03 comm is on the ball, rines will never get to a situation where they run out of ammunition. Thus, in 3.04 the comm does not have to worry so much about dropping ammo.

    Effect on gameplay: easier on comm, marines will spend more of the early game shooting rather than knifing cause the comm does not drop ammo.

    If you're complaining this makes marines overpowered, then maybe you need to spend more time fighting marines with loaded guns and not marines with knives out.

    Upgrading timing. Makes HMGs and GLs come earlier. That's about it. Hardly overpowering because, guess what, you still need the same amount of res to do everything else. All it means is that if you have the res of hand, it comes a tad earlier.

    Effect on gameplay: If marines have the res, they can have good weapons out to counter the aliens, instead of waiting for the AA to finish teching, but in the process, lose all their nodes.

    Result: Work for your win by denying res.

    Siege change: Well, all I can say is this. A good siege with 3 sieges will cost 70 resources. Add in the cost for the observatories, which you might need 2, and the phase gate. Plus the medspam if a lerk is sporing. What? You don't have a lerk?

    What happened to your patrolling skulks? Where's the fade? Where's the lerk? Where's the gorge to buy time with healing and in preparation to heal? Setting up a siege takes an awfully long time compared to a shotgun rush, so what is your team doing? Camping MS?

    If you folks are complaining that 330 -> 400 is too big a boost, then give me back the 330 damage + lifeform splash back anyday. Someone did the numbers on damage earlier in the thread, which showed that there was no change to number of hits to structures.

    All it did was make healing less powerful.

    For real!

    I tried talking to Hsu to get FyUAtlas unbanned from the cal forums. Those two made the cal forums worth reading. Forlorn was entertainment and he made other people entertaining as well. Forums have been quiet since back then.
