On Music & Women (56k beware)
Well it certainly doesn’t take much to persuade me to take a liking of a nation’s culture to which many of you seem to despise.
What went wrong with me to sanely make such a conversion you ask?
Two people…
1. I openly admit that I know jack squat about jazz music. My music list doesn’t even lean heavily to jazz music… in the midst of all the wondrous brain damaging cesspool I listen to, my repertoire of jazz music consists of a ditty by Venuti & Land, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and a bunch of tracks from Grim Fandango.
And then there’s Django Reinhardt…

Rarely am I ever entranced to a single artist… it’s usually just a single or two that I listen to, and I leave it at that. But by God, Django kicks mountains of ****, and I haven’t been this addicted to the works of a single artist for a long time…
Jazz music is of course a genre that originated from the Harlem Renaissance of the United States, and for a time, it stayed a unique product solely from said location. But then from across the Atlantic, a French gypsy pops up with his mad skills guitar style… playing only with two fingers. (he lost the other three from a fire accident)
Holy ****.
For anyone remotely interested in his works, I suggest taking an acoustic gander at Brazil, September Song, Belleville, and Minor Swing (with Grapelli).
2. I must say that in our current atmosphere, I find the trend in feminine aesthetics rather disappointing. In fact, it was only a little less than a year ago that I felt that our modern times offered no female celebrities/models worth stalking.
It is thus with great joy that I can now retract that previous statement.

Meet Melissa Theuriau. A French news reporter for some news station I probably can’t pronounce. I think that after seeing those three pictures, you might be wondering why I am so utterly enthralled by a pretty face behind a desk, in comparison to other presumably attractive women. My reasons are as follows:
A. Hair & Wardrobe.
In striving to keep with formality, all you can expect from anchorwomen in North American news stations is the blazer/Chanel jacket and blouse, ad infinitum. Theuriau, on the other hand, keeps things interesting with informal wear that changes with each show. Same with the hair… she keeps things different, and thus… enticing.
B. She reminds of the only other person I would have ever considered stalking.

But God saw it fit to damn my conception to a trashy time frame, and she has sadly passed on now… CURSE YOU, 1986! MY CONCEPTION SHOULD HAVE BEEN 40 YEARS BACK! I am an anachronism of my times… AND I WANT OUT!
3. Grace > Promiscuity
If I haven’t convinced any of you just how mentally warped I am, let me allay any apprehensions you may have had of my sanity up until this point.
The excessive showing of feminine skin/nudity does not impress me.
Sure, there are qualities about it that are admirable in a certain respect, but I honestly disagree with it being the paramount of sexiness. Furthermore, its not simply the excessive show of skin that irks me; a greater fault falls in the way models/celebrities choose to present themselves.for the camera. Seeing some damsel dressed in a piece of string holding her mammary glands does not entice me; to me it feels -excuse my wording- whorish. It flaunts the message, “LOOK AT ME. I’M FLAUNTING MY SEX AT YOU. COME TAKE ME…. YOU’RE A BIG BOY, AREN’T YOU? *GIGGLE*/*WIGGLE*”
Ungh… nothing sophisticated about it, and the feeling that the presentation just hangs itself out like that as if it were some meat market feels indecent and cheap.
Though it would seemingly befit me to join the cast as the newest and worst **** Tracy character (Prudeface), please don’t imply that I enjoy looking at women smothered in parkas or beehive suits. On the contrary… I do of course enjoy form accentuating clothing, but with sophistication, grace, and elegance. That’s what made Audrey Hepburn the damn hottest woman who ever lived. God curse the fact that grace and elegance isn’t considered pinnacle of sexiness… and instead the mainstream male gender finds itself more entranced with the raunchy cesspool that FHM, Playboy, etc. dictates as sexy.
I think that’s what I attractive about Melissa Theuriau… I personally find her presentation to be pretty enticing, but it doesn’t fall on being classless (e.g., HAY GUYZ. WANT TO SEE CLEAVAGE?). If this comes across to people as being boring and unexciting… well all the better for me… serendipity’s where it’s at!

Anyway, back to the asylum for me.

This is why I read the news instead of watching it on TV

And I can't even hate her for it. o__0
sure that chicks hot.. and her eyes are kind of freaky (in an attractive way).. but i like asians more...
its just common genes that a guy is going to like a slender "good looking" female.. (mostly)... just think all the porn and stuff started somewhere... it started with a large scale opinion on what makes women hot... not what some magazine said...
if ads started featuring fat pimply ugly girls.. most guys wouldnt like it.. and im sure girls wouldnt strive to become fat and pimply... now think if the ads stayed that way for years and years so that new born babies grew up with them... they still probably wouldnt like those girls...
i dunno if anyone knows what im saying or not but basically i dont think guys like the girls they do because of what media tells them to like... i think they just like who they like...
of course most people are going to like that news reporter more than others... because of her clothes and hairstyle most likely... youre not much different from most people by liking her...
this took too long to write... i think ill just hit add reply and hope i didnt **** anything up..
anywho.. good luck with your stalking..
[note for people with no sense of humor: that was a joke]
Of course, you could then make the argument that the interest in marriage was based on economics (though this being the 19th Century, marriages by this point were a love based rather than money driven). I can’t really give much further in-depth analysis on this, as it was simply a brief tidbit I learned from history class.
Beauty is still the eye of the beholder, but environmental upbringing sure has a way of tinkering with our tastes.
That goes back even farther, if you've ever seen a picture of the Three Muses or the Three Graces.
Y'all are freaks. FREAKS! Get outta my country!
For some reason the girl in that movie is just amazing to me.. maybe it's because the character she plays has so much in common with the way i think, or maybe it's just because she's a hottie with cool eyes. I dunno.

It could be both.
Audrie Tou-tou (I think thats how its spelled) is very attractive.

I've really wanted to see that movie for some time. Mayhaps I can rent it from blockbuster or hollywood video?

Maybe, but I don't know if Blockbuster caters to the type of crowd that enjoys foreign films.

I recall an entire wall covered with amelie when it was first released and there has always been a foreign film section in blockbuster.
You have to be kidding me when point A is "hair and wardrobe." I should think the first thing to notice is she has a beautiful face for no reason other than it is beautiful.
Don't worry, though. I don't think liking 2 frenchies means you're a francophile.
Besides alot of ot people don't wear much makeup, cause they don't need to.

For a while me and my friends appraised each other's girlfriends by how well they'd survive the winter.
"She certainly looks pretty enough, but she'd never survive the winter."
"Yeah, one hard winter and she'd be gone."
etc.
The face... well, it speaks for itself.
With regards to Amelie, any video retail store should be carrying it; it is pretty well renowned. And as I've mentioned in an earlier post, you might want to check your local/school/college library for DVDs.
Edit: That chick is extremely hot. I saw her on genmay before and nearly creamed myself :\
Firstly, she's stunning and he's a genius.
Secondly and the reson for the quote, it's also the same with skin colour. Nowadays so many people aspire to be tanned but in the 'good old days' tanned meant that you were a peasant working the fields. The nobles tried to look as pale as possible because staying in doors and doing nothing was seen as sexy...
I'd have been an adonis if I was born then... hold on, lets see if I can show you.

That's me in the middle (click the pic for a slightly bigger version) after two whole weeks out in spain during peak season. I'd been out all day everyday (just seeing the sights rather than sunbathing but even so) and I'd forgotten to wear sun block twice. That is the most colour I've ever had on me

My god man, that's after forgetting the sunblock? Ouch. I've met pale ones before, but never atomic whitey's. Those are but legend! Anyway, nobles found a lot of things attractive that we don't anymore. The well fed woman, the pale one, etc. Confuzor already said it, it all came down to status symbols, so it wasn't completely honest to goodness attraction.
You're right about the news anchor being stunning too. Although Confuzor makes the point that she is well garbed and not flaunting her looks or her skin, she is still physically attractive. She doesn't break with societal properties of physical attraction or societal expectations in terms of weight and proportion. So in that vein of thought, Confuzor isn't all that different from your average joe for liking her.
I don't know who you were referring to as a genius, so I'll leave a no comment on that. Though I think of confuzor as an evil one, so that may have been what you meant as well.
Secondly, do you really think they lusted after the peasant girls while marry the palid fat noble women because it was their duty? Our idea of beauty is based alot on the society you're currently in. Beauty is purely based on opinion and even things like the golden mean are based on how our eyes are shaped and how the very world around us is built on certain fundamental patterns.
If you were born 1000 years ago or in a completely seperate species on a different planet or whatever then your concept of beauty would be very different to what it is now.
