<div class="IPBDescription">Why Wont it work?</div> Hi ive been using ns for over 3 months now and i getting better but i been using Xfire for a about 2 weeks now and now ns crashes the second i start Xfire and i don't know what the problem is. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

But the thing is it was working before and me and my dad used it so i could see what server he was on and he could do the same i just want to know how to fix it.

Can someone help me please.

try to uninstall xfire then reboot install xfire reboot then try to play ns if it crash then i can't help you

i reinstalled xfire, ventrillo and ns and it all works fine now thanks

Remember, with 3rd party applications, you shuld be starting them, and then start whichever game you want to play, not the other way around. Many of them recognise that startup procedure, and nothing else.

Some games react very badly to having something started, then Alt-Tabbing back into the game, many crash the game, others give you a reboot.

ok so i install xfire and go to play NS through it and it crasses back to desktop...help me the problem was not there before xfire was installed)

Don't start NS via xFire, the link can be rather unstable at worst. Try opening NS via Steam.

xFire actually pinks up the task processes for each game, and identifies them accordingly, you don't need to use the "Launch Game" menu in it.

for X-fire and hl mod compatability issues you should really head on over to the X-Fire forums, I too get intermittent probs and xfire dies regularily only in ns but hey, they may have some answers.

xfire forums, like i said turn off the ingame chat system..

Water Boy, <a href='http://www.xfire.com/xf/modules.php?name=XFire&file=profile&uname=caliburnus' target='_blank'>my xFire profile</a> is all accounted from starting the games up normally, not through xFire. I personally don't trust third party apps to start my games up, which is the reason is despise GameSpy Arcade, and ASE.

Use the normaly startup procedures for a game, and xFire will log the time ingame as normal.
