Hi everyone!

Yesterday at 18-20.00 Finnish time we tested re-installed Natural Selection server.

I have done some modifications in this server and screenshot shows how to pings are now. I have tens screenshots but 1 screenshot is good demostration.

We tested 3 maps without ping or lag problems.. seems like this 18 player server takes about 70-80% cpu power.


Server details:

Amd 2000+ XP (1.67GHz) with 512 MB memory and 100Mbit/s connection

18 Player server without ping booster


Soon I will write instructions how to get better pings and without lag problems..

    A good number of the pings on my server are <100 w/ 22 players too. Your 100Mb/sec connection probably helps a lot.

    I run dual AMD 2000+ 1Gb DDR on 100mbit fast ethernet into an ISPs backbone. I work at the ISP and there is noway I can achieve pings like that.

    Hukkas definately done some sweet optimisation.

    Definately yes. But if hes managing to get low pings like that then its by all means worth it.

    Its not as if NS has the worst dedicated server though, take a look at BF1942, it uses 100% CPU usage ALL THE TIME even if theres only 2 people in it. Same with Americas Army Ops.

    I've no doubt Flayra will be able to optimise NS quite a fair bit further yet, but I don't think it will ever be down to the usage of say CS or DOD. Obvious reason is that NS is far more complicated and is processing much more information then CS or DOD ever will.

    i REALLY hope so, because one of the major server providers here, tnnet has many servers for sale but the only one which is with the game ALONE on the server costs 110 euros a month, and anything esle will lag a lot mostlikely with ns. So clans are either forced not to get a server. or to pay incredible amounts which 90% of them can't afford.

    Sadly, I'd have to agree with you. I'd also put a 45% chance on that screenshot being photoshopped.

    2nd I really helping so much as I can peoples.. This moment we are fixing friend server..

    I dont need to lie because many finnish players knows that I have those pings..

    hukka is right, it is NOT photoshopped. i play on his server all the time. I play on it because i get great ping, there's good competition (sp?) and LOTS of teamwork. and all who think hukka isn't trying to help or thinks he photoshopped it, answer this: why? what does he gain? saying he's gonna do an optimization guide and post screenshots of low pings what could he POSSIBLE gain?


    as i stated above hukka has the BEST server i have found, low pings, great competition, and awesome teamwork!

    the ONLY maps where the pings exceed 50 is hera and bast for obvious reasons, and even then they go to sub 100's or at worst low 200's.

    yeh, those screenshots isnt photoshopped.
    i've been playgin on his server too and it works fine. been one of the best ns server where i've been playing.
    damn good pings, teamwork, everything.. nice ppl..

    That isnt secret.. Hukkalandia #1 IP is 212.1149.105.64:28000..

    This server is only for finnish players.

    Well.. how many people need to come tell you how much I helped them with their server problems? Remember I helped people with their server problems over year or even more. Unlike you I really help people.

    I dislike when someone says like what you said.

    Do you think it is easy work to keep all people happy? Go Ahead and test. Sure I can write fast some instructions which works for someone but not everyone. I really want to do guide which helps everyone. Have you noticed? No one ready to help me with this guide. Maybe I need some help with this thing.
