fixed my r_speeds right upI was having some trouble getting r_speeds down in ns_shiva. There were several rooms in which every brush was split along some invisible plane that didn't seem to have any relation to the world geometry. This was pushing my r_speeds into the thousands in some places. I ran bsp with max node size set to 2048 (half of the default) and it fixed the issues immediately.
Just a heads up, if your r_speeds are getting out of control, and you notice that your brushes are getting split in places that they don't need to be, give it a try.
Edit:It also dropped my clipnodes 4%!!
