<div class="IPBDescription">doesnt install all files</div> A friend of mine had the plan to install and play Natural Selection.

She downloaded Steam and set it up the right way
She did the HL training
She downloaded ns_install_v3.exe

She executed the installer

and chose the path D:\Steam\SteamApps\her-nick@gmx.net\half-life\ns

she started the installation.
Installation starts and installs some files.

Suddenly:

If she goes for retry the same message pops up again

So she does ignore. And it happens again and again...with other files.

ns_bast.bsp

p_gr.mdl
p_mine.mdl
forcefield2.mp3
tech60s.spr

now...WTH IS WRONG??? she tried different installers. She formated her **** harddrive. And still it doesnt work.

I ll upload the files for her now and check if it works...but still...what is wrong with the installer?

The good thing about hl-mods is, that you can just copy your ns folder into her hl folder.

german version:
Kopiere einfach dein NS Verzeichnis in ihr HL Verzeichnis und alles wird gut <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

several possibilitys:

-virus
-OS is corrupted
-every installer she downloaded was corrupted

If such unexplainable things happen out of the sudden, i personally tend to "format C:"

That's a problem.

Do it to this path instead:
D:\Steam\SteamApps\her-nick@gmx.net\half-life\

As for your specific problem, I have no idea. It could be a hard drive problem, a corrupted installer file problem, or something else.

Thier the most likley causes as others have pointed out.

Get her to run a virus scan, ad-aware, spybot, and scandisk (or chkdsk in MS dos prompt as its much more accurate)
