    There was a thread way back about the trailer.

    Regardless, I really want to see it as well. I like the noir genre and the trailer was damn impressive. Yahoo! has some exclusive clips too.

    This is about the movie, not the trailer, so I guess it's okay. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I went to the midnight showing and thought it was great. Very violent, very bloody. I've been playing God of War lately, so I guess it's just been one killing spree after another lately o_x;; Anyway it really does capture the comic-book feel very well, especially with how they edited the visuals.

    Elijah Wood was just weird, as was the orange guy. I think I'm in love with Jessica Alba, though. :S

    Went to the midnight showing. The movie is right on par with the books (all of which I own), so I was able to fully appriciate it all the way through. Now if only they would ban teenagers from movie theaters...

    I've never read the graphic novels either, however from every indication of the trailer it looks akin to "Max Payne: The Movie". Which is a very good thing. Hooray.

    I thought it was great, and I went with a handful of other girls who liked it a lot too.

    i liked it a lot. i like the very, very end in the elevator. of course, i won't spoil anything, but it was definitely a good end, much like a book in that everything ties up.

    Im going to see this movie this weekend.
    Cant wait.

    On a side note, was I not the only one who when first saw the trailer and saw the dark gritty black and white comic theme and some guy with a handgun in each hand think of Max Payne lol.

    I saw some commercials for the movie during spring break while back home (I don't have TV in my apartment, no one wanted to pay for it), and I didn't plan on going to see it. Today someone invited me to go along with them to see it, and it was definitely worth it.

    Amazing. I loved it. The black n white (with color highlights) gave the movie that cool comic book feel. I also liked the white and black mini-scenes to emphasis the action taking place. Good action, good story telling, great adaptation.

    I give it:
    <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif' /><!--endemo-->^5

    5/5 (since there is an emoticon limit...grr)

    Oh, and a side note...if anyone went to Friday's 10:45pm showing at the Woodlands theatre, that was me that shouted "Don't forget your towel!" at the end of the "Guide" trailer. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Ha, I went in thinking that it would be set in Vegas, but during the movie they show a sigh that says Basin City with the Ba scratched out.

    What I find a little bewildering is that we all describe a noir film as 'Max Payneish', when May Payne was in fact a game using elements from classical film noir...

    Technically, Max Payne is loosely based on <i>Sin City</i> (SC came along before MP, and was very popular in the comics underground). It rips (unabashedly) from <i>The Hard Goodbye, A Dame to Kill For,</i> and <i>That Yellow Bastard</i>.

    But since both are Hardcore Noir <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> , it's really hard for either to be all too original and not have a few things overlap.

    To me this is just like calling tissues Kleenex, we just say what pops into our mind based on past experience, and being gamers, we are more likely to know Max Payne than noir in general.

    My wife was bugging me about seeing it before I even fully knew what it was. And she loved it.

    Yeah, I thought it was mildly awesome. Minus the mildly. Incredible style and flair through the whole thing, and one of the few times such a powerhouse cast of big-names has been worth it. I even thought Josh Hartnett's small role was completely bad-****. And I usually don't like him.
