<b><span style='font-size:17pt;line-height:100%'>It is now day five, post away.</span></b>
"This'll come as a surprise to you, but Nemesis Zero was actually right about one thing: I <i>do</i> have an idea. Mind you, it's only an idea, but nevertheless, this" <b>Talesin</b> withdrew a small vial from his pocket "might prove to be a crucial advantage." <b>Cold NiTe</b> studied the small vial. "What is it?" "An injection capsule. You place it in a standard injector and inject it into the human body." <b>Talesin</b> withdrew a small injector from another pocket. A capsule was already in place. "Or you modify an injector so it can spray a meter or two in front of you. Now, this is a special compound that should only work on the formtakers. I've even tested it on myself to make absolutely sure, and I have suffered no ill effects. You see, I reckon that even though the formtakers can change their bodies, their nervous system would have to remain as it were. This is only a theory, so I might be wrong and this would just be a waste of time. But if that's the case, this substance should attack their nervous system, causing pain and probably spasms and convulsions as well. And that's just if you spray it on them. Injected, it might incapacitate or even kill them." <b>Cold NiTe</b> spoke with amazement in his voice: "Wow. Why didn't you tell us? Why haven't you used it?" But <b>brute force</b> answered that question for him: "Because trust is at a minimum right now. If somebody tried to spray you with a strange substance right now, how would you react? I sure as hell wouldn't let them. <b>Talesin</b> wouldn't have survived for long if he had tried that."
If possible, <b>Sky</b> was even more frustrated now than he had been before. The trip to the alien ship had been a complete waste, and he had stayed there for so long that he had risked running out of air on the way back. The section of the ship that had been accessible to him had been powered down completely, and of course he had forgotten to bring any cutting or welding tools. When he was finally back in the airlock through which he had left the <i>Freya,</i> he breathed a sigh of relief. He started taking off his suit, but almost fell over from surprise when <b>Snidely</b> suddenly stood in front of him. <i>"Dammit,</i> you almost gave me a heart attack," he said inbetween quick, gasping breaths. "Help me out of this damned suit, will you?" <b>Snidely</b> lent him a hand, talking all the while. "You went to the ship, didn't you? I'm surprised you came back alive. Find anything?" "Nothing at all. Absolutely nothing. Just corridors, empty and dark. All doors that looked even remotely interesting were locked tight. I hate to admit it, but you were right: Going there was a total waste of time. What do we do now, though? Go with Nemesis Zero's plan and fly to Barnard's Star?" "Probably not. I hear Nemesis Zero is dead anyway." "Can't really say I'm unhappy about that." <b>Sky</b> paused for a moment. "When did we become this cold, <b>Snidely?</b> We see people die, people we have know for years, and we feel nothing. Why did it come to this? It's as if we all went haywire the moment those... those <i>beasts</i> came aboard the ship. Do you think it would have been different if we had just stood together from the start?" <b>Snidely</b> considered this for a moment before replying: "Maybe. But don't feel bad because you're not mourning the dead. It's a normal reaction: You adapt to the situation, harden yourself. We have to be strong right now, we can't just break down and start sobbing. There will be time for grieving later." "Yeah, I guess you're right. Hey, thanks. I really needed a morale booster or something right now. Thanks." "Hey, no poblem. That's w--" But <b>Sky</b> interrupted him: "Oh my... <i>Look out!"</i> <b>Snidely</b> whirled around, drawing his gun in the same motion. But he was no experienced gunfighter, and made the classic mistake of extending the weapon straight in front of him - bringing it into the formtaker's reach. It grabbed his wrist and twisted it, and <b>Snidely</b> yelled out and dropped the weapon. But as the formtaker twisted his torso to the right in its vice-like grip, he brought his knee up and struck it in the stomach area, causing it to double over. He was about to bring his elbow down on its back when it dodged aside, and before he could regain his stance, it had him in a chokehold from behind. When <span style='color:red'><b>Snidely's</b></span> neck snapped, it sounded like a gunshot to <b>Sky.</b> The formtaker turned to him. <b>Sky</b> felt paralyzed. He tried to will himself to reach for the gun where it had fallen, but his body would not obey. He simply stared at the creature. It had brown, leathery skin and purple eyes. The features were vaguely human. No, they were getting more human with each passing moment. He would be able to make out a face - and it would be a face he had known for years. But suddenly the change stopped. The formtaker grinned, a grin so evil that <b>Sky</b> had never thought it possible. Then, it simply turned and left. For several minutes, <b>Sky</b> felt himself unable to move, shocked by what had just happened. When he felt his body willing to respond again to the orders his mind had been screaming at it, he crawled over to the corpse of his dead friend. This time, <b>Sky</b> mourned.
Alright, sorry about this guys: I will be gone saturday, and part of sunday. I'll be back some time in the afternoon (GMT), in time for the end of day five. However, one (or better yet, several) of you will have to keep a tally on the votes during day five (don't forget 0.1 vote for Cold NiTe and Hellfire3k). And if you instalynch someone, you'll have to wait until I get back. Sorry 'bout that guys, but real life is running interference here.

A word on that. If instalynch does happen. Treat it like it's nighttime, everyone should stop posting. If instalynch happens, any posts beyond that point may be deleted, but changes in your voting will definatly not count after insta.
Alright, I believe this has been circulating for some time now, but let's just get it in the open: I have been in contact with the psychic for quite some time now. Nemesis Zero was the first wolf killed.
At this point, it is more probable to me that Talesin is being 100% honest, rather than this all being some kind of hoax cooked up by the wolves to fool us.
The news that I have been in contact with the psychic shouldn't come as a surprise to the wolves, because I talked quite a lot with Swift and Nemesis early on in the game, and that is one of the pieces of information I shared with them. I am grateful that the psychic has chosen a back-up mouthpiece to continue sharing information with the group should I be killed. So, now that we know we are on the right track - finally - I will start the voting for <b>Swiftspear</b>.
I agree with Sky. I was contacted by the seer and he told me who he suspected. <b>SwiftSpear</b> was one of them. If we're ever going to have a chance of winning this, we need to get on track real fast.
At the moment, I am not sure. My strong argument yesterday may have been a ruse, but I still hold suspicions against both sides. The wolfing of snidely may have been a direct assault against the 'seer' and those who believe in him, but it may have also been a trick to get us to back Talesin.
At the moment, I will refrain from voting. I am, however, still wondering if voting off Talesin may be the safest bet, if for nothing else than confirming his information about the seer (hopefully <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
If you want to confirm Talesin, the easiest and safest way to do so would be to vote out Swift. If Swift is a wolf, Talesin is definitely human; the wolves might give up <i>one</i> of their own for stronger trust bonds, but <i>two</i>? I don't think so.
This of course means that you trust that I am a human, and the psychic who gives me information is the real deal. That's a separate trust issue entirely, and not one I am really able to help, but I sure as hell will try.
I will say this, Muffin, just to be perfectly honest: in the beginning of the game, I was convinced you were a wolf, mainly for how you went after slacky relentlessly even after the situation had been mostly reconciled on IRC. In fact, you came within a hair's breadth of being instalynched by myself, Im_lost, and Nemesis Zero (along with Mantrid who had already voted for you and was not in our little circle). That vote that I said was random because you had voted for me randomly? Yeah, that wasn't random; that was a vote meant to get im_lost and nem0 to trust me (funny considering one of them was a wolf) enough to know that I wasn't going to leave them out to dry by not voting myself. The only reason you're alive is because Im_lost had real-world concerns and dropped just a minute after I made my vote; I called the abort myself.
Swift knows all this too; I sent him pms about the subject, even if nem0 never told him of the situation, which I doubt. I even have all the pms I sent to the two of them, if anyone cares to see them to verify all that I am saying.
However, now that I know Nemesis was a wolf, I can clearly see you are NOT a wolf, unless Nem0 really wanted to vote out a fellow wolf. So I trust you. I've laid out all of my previous concerns about you, and I've shown you how, through coincidence and a lot of luck, they have been resolved. The rest is up to you.
I can see your point, and i would like to thank you for not voting me off. That would have been a mistake, i assure you. I am still not convinced either way though, and will sit on the fence until something more definite comes up or time forces me to make a decision.
You'll have to handle the vote counts from now on. I suggest the following: Whenever you add or change your vote, you simply include the current vote count in your post. That way, it should be easy to keep track of the votes.

I don't <i>completely</i> trust Talesin, but I trust him far more than <b>Swiftspear</b>, so I'm voting for him for now.
Reading back through the thread I've noticed that I look almost as inactive as Mantrid, but those of you who frequent the IRC channel know that this is not the case. This is not some kind of new thing I started for TWG, it's just the way I am. All you really need to know is that if you have a discussion with me, it'll probably be on IRC.
The psychic's alive, eh, Sky? He confirmed Nem0, eh?
That's funny... Real funny.
Vote <b>Sky</b>.
Him and I'm Lost both know why. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> I knowticed that too... for anyone who is intersted im lost claimed to me that he was the psychic... which makes it interesting that the psychic has confirmed that Nem0 was a wolf being that lost had been wolfed 2 turns ago.
Seems talesin and sky though they could bend reality a little and get away with it. Kill off your #1 day time target and then fabricate fake psychic statements, brilliant!
I figured that talesin would be easier to vote off since he is pretty obviously a wolf, but if more people then just me know about the sky thing I'll go that way too, my vote is for <b>sky</b>
Yes, Im_lost claimed to be the psychic to you. Can you show me that pm? But so did I, and I'm guessing it was before he claimed to be the psychic, probably to sow confusion.
Oh, and here's a shocker for you: <i>I am the bloody psychic</i>.
First piece of evidence: When I trusted Nem0, I sent him this line in a pm. "Im lost is on and good to go; he just wants me to post the reasons for voting for muffin rather than him first. That's enough for lynch. Swift can join in later if he has to. the only problem is you guys may lose your access to the psychic. I <i>am</i> oedipus' friend." If you want me to take a screenshot of the pm, I will, but this should suffice. Now, if anyone remembers the first twg, where I also happened to be the psychic, I used this very same line on a number of players (including Im_lost, ironically). It's a reference to the psychic in <i>Oedipus Rex</i>. Well actually, the first time I used it I said I was a friend of Creon, but I decided that was too obvious. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Second bit: Talesin'll recognize these emails I'm going to post. They are the "psychic's" anonymous notices to him from last night. You can believe I faked these if you wish, but at least now Talesin believes me.
Third bit: No one else has been contacted by the psychic, even though I said that someone was. I just said that so the wolves wouldn't kill me as a means of bringing the psychic out; the threat of having another human rise up meant that killing me would have been a waste of a wolf. Humans, think about it; has anyone else come forward saying they either are the psychic, or have been contacted by the psychic? No, everything has been referenced back to me.
Fourth bit: Im_lost was a human, a human who trusted me. He never mentioned Cold_nite. I highly doubt he would have spilled the beans to coldnite behind my back. If he did, oh well, but I would like to see that pm/log for evidence.
Any one of these could be chalked up to mere circumstance, but then at the very least I have a LOT more circumstantial evidence behind me than swift has behind him. Plus I have logs with Snidely, pms to imlost, pms to talesin....
<note>As soon as I can, I'll host those images myself, or I'll just take 'em down after this game is over</note>
Okay so first you're in contact with the psychic and then you are the psychic? That's a cute trick but I'm not buying it. Seems a little too prepackaged and preplanned if you ask me.
Damn straight it was preplanned. What, you think I was going to go around telling people I was the psychic? I had to get the information out there, I had to make contacts, but I couldn't reveal myself, and I'd say I'm lucky I didn't, because I wouldn't have lasted past the second day.
Of course, I wanted to wait until the very end of the game before casting off my disguise, but 1) it was getting idiotically obvious anyway (I said the word "moutpiece" every.time.I.talked) and 2) you can't wolf me now. I am the wolves' one chance out of their predicament. Swift and two other people, one of which is probably you, now have to prove me a wolf in order to even keep the remotest chance of winning this. This means you can't wolf me; that would vindicate me and everything I have said. So the only way for me to die is if you convince two humans that I am not the psychic at all, rather that I am a wolf. Good luck with that. I know from personal experience how difficult it is trying to fight that particular battle (I was a wolf last game, and I got rocked by a psychic-seer network as well).
Just trying to help out here. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> No, Nemesis Zero was instalynched, meaning that the day didn't run out of time, meaning that anyone that didn't have a chance to vote yet doesn't get a phantom vote for the day. Hellfire3k has .1 phantom votes.
Yes, Im_lost claimed to be the psychic to you. Can you show me that pm? But so did I, and I'm guessing it was before he claimed to be the psychic, probably to sow confusion.
My pm to you, dated April 9th at 8:36PM <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> Just to explain my previous posts you mentioned here; I had decided to vote for STG before I even saw your post (and I told you this on IRC). When I noticed you had also voted for him, I decided to go for it anyway. As for "asking the right questions", I'm not really sure about that. All I did was ask "but how is voting for someone casting a random vote going to help us?" or something to that effect.
Either way, I'm sticking with my vote. I trust Sky to be the psychic, we cannot afford to make mistakes this late in the game. If the wolves can convince two humans, they're free to kill whoever they want.

I get that it is a smart idea. It's just that, why didn't you just have I'm Lost act as the frontman then? I don't understand how you're any better off now, than if you had put I'm Lost as the person contacting everyone and you as the person who was the actual psychic and never revealed yourself to anyone. Then if you wanted to pull the same stunt, you could reveal yourself now, like you are, and you would still be safe from wolfing. I mean they can't wolf someone who admits in public or so I understand it to be. (Though that's the same cover that Talesin is running, and I still don't know about that.)
Either way, you would have been safe right? The only thing this serves to do is incriminate anyone who chooses not to believe you.
I'm new to this game, so I could be missing an important point here. But I really don't see how it's any different. Look pm me or something if you want. Just watch out my inbox is nearly full. On another note entirely, does anyone know the status of Hellfire3k? Has his body been found? Was he hit by a car? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> On a serious note, he may need to be replaced if he doesn't show up soon.

My pm to you, dated April 9th at 8:36PM

I bet we find out that talesin was ACCTUALLY THE SEER next...

No, Nemesis Zero was instalynched, meaning that the day didn't run out of time, meaning that anyone that didn't have a chance to vote yet doesn't get a phantom vote for the day. Hellfire3k has .1 phantom votes.

Just to explain my previous posts you mentioned here; I had decided to vote for STG before I even saw your post (and I told you this on IRC).
No no it's not that.
(It always is, <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> , I don't delete stuff easily...)
