an Apple iPod Mini
I just got an Apple iPod Mini (6gb Silver)+USB Power Adapter+Protecting Case (With Optional Necklace)
After 5 mins of listening i came to the conclusion that it sounds better from my ipod than from my computer...
See'n how i dont use a EQ on my computer its going to sound a little better... Anyway, i was not only establishing that i just got a iPod even though many of you already have one+ or something similar, but i was also wondering if u can point me to some good iPod hacking sites, you know, so i can have fun with it.
Thanks, oh ya, $302.12 for iPod Mini 6gb Silver+USB Power Adapter+Skin Tight Rubber Protective iPod Mini Case.
[Edit O Doom]Oh ya, the txt file on the install CD was created Feb 1, 2005; Aka this is really new.[/EOD]

Edit: Okay, that was somewhat.. spamish.
anyway, Ipods are okay, I know a couple people who are quite happy with them, though I don't think I'd buy one over my current mp3CD player.
or buy one at all for that fact.
But discussing anything illegal, such as avoiding copy protection, will be considered punishable here.
What do you expect to do? Make it play useful file types?
Here's a nifty 2 step hack to make the iPod mini better in every way.
1)Go out and buy a different mp3 player.
2)throw your iPod mini into a brick wall.

Consider this:
Before a electronic musician releases any music, he listens to his final product through at least three different ways. If you got three different headphones, I bet the same song would sound different through each pair.
>_>
<_<
Nevermind.
Anyway, i googled some ipod sites, if u want me to share.
ipodhacks.com
ipodlounge.com
everythingipod.com
Those i think are the best.

May I note that even though I don't own a iPod, I think you are downright stupid for just having this blind, not factually given reason for hating them, and insist on saying you are right in every single thread that they even come up in? I mean, iShirt was pretty funny(and stupid), but coming into a pro-iPod thread and bashing it is equatable to someone coming onto these forums and saying "Stupid n***** you like coputer gaems? ololo stupid aliems"
On topic: iPods = teh sex in looks. I could see why things instantly sound better too, being you just spent plenty of money on it. Like how I was really into Brothers in Arms, but now I'm not into it as much as I was when I had it new. Ohwell.
boned yeah.. I agree

Last time I checked I had a few "factually given" reasons, we filled a whole thread up with them before it got derailed into anti-RIAA stuff, remember?

Like your "Lower Quality" argument, that actually turned out to just be the headphones they give you(which anyone with half an ounce of care knows to always use your own), but the iPod itself had very high quality. And bad interface, which most of us thought was a great one, but you thought was "confusing"? What were your other points?
While we're discussing prices, I'd like to mention I got my Zen Touch for $200, which is 20GB. I have a pair of Shure E3c's to go with my Zen Touch.
The quality of the iPod even with comperable earphones is not as good as the Rio Karma, I can tell you from having heard both. And I never ever said that the interface was "confusing." It is simply lacking in navigational features compared to such MP3 players as the Creative Nomad series (especially the Xtra). It also costs about a zillion dollars, its case is counter-intuitively designed so as to llow you to use the device while in the case (although this may have changed in the latest gen versions, I havn't checked). It has up until the latest version had an absolutely pitiful battery and even the newest has slightly less playback time than most MP3 players did a year ago. There is no volume button on the device. It does not support ogg vorbis.
There's a couple reasons for you.

I'm pretty sure you just change the volume by cycling around the touchpad thingy, without pressing the middle button (which makes you cycle through the list of songs instead).
Anyway, I don't buy things whose battery lasts only 18 months and is irreplaceably expensive.
My MP3 player (convienently enough, also .wma player) is 4 years old and cost $50 at time of purchase. I can cycle out songs when ever I want and I can change batteries on the fly (before some **** batteries from this **** university split open inside it...now it takes so rubbing and manuevering to get the current to travel). I can hold ~20 songs of 128kbps quality, which is more than you should need for any activity .

Actually, that really depends on how you use it (ie, do you constantly shuffle, play it at loud volume, go through the entire hd...) and the eventual decay and death of the battery is something that will happen to any battery of that sort (including the Zen's). It's just harder to replace on an iPod. Also, you can replace the battery yourself for cheaper than Apple offers (with a better battery this time).
Best we leave it that way. This thread is a mess. I dub it, the Ipod wars.

I think that would make this like iPod Wars, Round XXIV.

Or however many wars the evil Emperor AYH ended up creating, huh?
yeah i was listening to a friend's ipod one day at school and the interface was indeed confusing as **** and completely unintuitive.
edit: not really that confusing but certainly unintuitive
I don't really see the complaints about it, other than the cost and the lack of FM. The interface is infinitely better than my old 64mb Rio, my Rio MP3CD player, and my dad's iRiver and iaudio. The sound quality is excellent for something that small, although other players may have better sound quality. Plus, it works with iTunes, which is better than any other software that I've seen for handling MP3s.
