Can't Register Hl1

So I finally found my cd key and when I go to register it under my HL2 account it tells me the key is being used on a different account. I remember my old accounts, xace and xace17. But I can't remember my passwords. So when i go to retrieve my password and they send me the email, they send it to an email i had with my old DSL company. So there's no way of me getting my password. What am i supposed to do now?

I have been thinking of that myself, namely what the changing of an e-mail account can do in such a situation .
But I guess you are on the wrong forum, even the wrong board. You should go to the Steam website and post about your problem there (try to contact an admin).

Don't worry, though, you can find HL1 at big stores for about $15, which is well worth it.

You know he is actually speaking about HL2? Don't tell me you can play HL2 with a HL1 cd-key or even unlock it. Perhaps you just ment he should forget about HL2 and just play HL1 .
Back on subject:
I was thinking about this: perhaps you can contact your old DSL company and see if or whether it is possible to get that e-mail? Just an idea, don't have any clue if that might be possible.

Seriously though xunszrox, it's cheaper now to buy a copy of HL1 from new, than what it is to pay Valve to unbind your old cdkey. Trundle to the local games indie retailer (Indie Retailers FTW!) fork out a tenner (or whatever it is where you live), run home, and bind the new key to your account. Next time, write down the Steam account and password!

Wisely spend your money, then you won't be poor! yay!
You know, given that no-one wants their Steam account nicked, that is actually a really good suggestion, as the notes area does have ample space for a Steam account details thinger. Just make sure no-one has access to you forum account, lest they get their mitts on your Steam details. My cousin had access to my account for about 2 months, I go to connect, and my Friends list had quadrupled in size. Mostly with idiotic feck-heads who could barely string a sentence together in AOL retard speak, god forbid actually say anything intelligible, like my regular Friends list can.
