cs players arent as bad as you think. on every cs/ cs source server/ i have played, i dont see any whining or anything like the things you guys mentioned.

i dont care if we get a 1000 noobs joining the ns community. everyone was once a noob.

Here is the REAL "My Games List" question on everybody's mind:

    Fade eye or Hive for the icon? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
fade eye, for sure, that's my feeling.

    (edit: thanks cagey!)
(another edit: not al cs or cs:s players are bad, i myself play a game of source every once in a while, i'm not all rotten... i guess ^^) (no, really, there's many nice cs players too. lets not generalise.)

    Cagey my questions are.
    1. What is holding the Dev team back from getting NS on the My Games List?
    2. Can you tell us what is holding the Dev team back from getting NS on the My Games List?
    3. What can the community do to help, apart from stop bugging you with heaps of questions about it?

(Ever noticed if you watch Cagey's icon long enough, you see a BUS drive by!)

We want My Games support. Valve wants to get us My Games suport. But both sides happen to have a lot of side business going, if you see what I mean. We will try to get on one page. More, we can not say. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->

The limiter is not time, I'll tell you that.

Valve could add a new game to their list and provide content distributino for it within a day. I've worked for a (very) large PC game developer, and I can say that it's most likely that Valve just doesn't care. There are probably employees who would love to see NS officially supported, but that doesn't matter. It won't make Valve any money, and anything that isn't instant profits is near impossible to sell to management, who is only concerned about whether or not the bathrooms at their next management "work shop" in Cancun will have gold faucets or not.

Valve is a large gaming shop. They have plenty of manpower. They are, quite simply, dicking NS around because they have nothing to gain.

dhakbar: New mod will encourge ppl to bay hl and in the future maybe hl2 (if source ns appears) so thay will profit. And adding new mods its a way to keep clients, steam is a big advertise even if players aren useing steam for there new products thay still are using it and thay will have to see all thouse nice banners with hl2 advertises etc. Becides players that see how much fun can thay have with not only half-life and other valves products will consider it as a bonus and its a good strategy to. Valve should support additional work from ppl not from there company becouse to be onest half life is so popular thx to work of others (MODS etc.). Thay will have money from it...

About the csplayers i agree its hard to play with noobs that think thay are the best, but some of our players do that thay cant stand the fact that thay are killed, if a csplayer is good his attitude towards new game is the same he just thinks he will "POWN as all", some of theme will stay and some will change the game but the fact is we need new players so NS can evolve (have the pleasure to evolve for some one). So i induce help noobs maybe not in game go to ready room teach him the basics and tell him what to do in game not scream, not say "F... noob" etc. every one was a noob, even i place 3 siegies in base and was very suprised that thouse big cannons arent killing onoses <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> (v 1.0).

And for the icon i hope it will be "Fade eye" greatest icon ever made <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

If NS is going under "My Games", it would be great.
New players and the game will be even larger.

About the NS icon, i think this one would fit: <img src='http://xs17.xs.to/pics/05085/ns.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

Patch described them. Although it would bring many players to NS (which is good for NS development and future sales), it would suck for the more experienced players. After all, there is a good amount of nubs today.

That same 60% would be a thorn on our side. CS players just stereotype all other mods to be LIKE CS, so we would be getting alot of "how to get bigger gun?" and other stuff similar.

Yeck, 16 year old guy who think he all that at CS....i knew someone like that. he was so influential at school that i didn't dare critisize him <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> It was annoying as hell being in the same class when he tells us about how he's in some stpuid tournament for 45 straight minuits. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
i love your attitude. if theres a guy who doesnt know what he's doing <i>then teach him</i>. dont take your evening pub sessions so goddamn seriously, i know that if i did my head would explode.

as for 16 year olds... you're 16 as well. people's age really doesnt matter that much.

and as for cs... or rather, cs:source. the general attitude on any server is definitely much nicer and more mature than on ns servers, almost all of the time.
