My First --short-- Story

<div class="IPBDescription">yup, it's a short story...</div> "Get down to mess hall and secure the node!"
"Copy."
We picked up some LMG ammo and began running to the mess hall. When we got there,
the tower had already been dropped in, and was ready to be built.
"I'll go check the side hallway for hostiles."
I watched him as he left through the door way. Soon after I heard a long LMG burst
followed by the crazed growl of a Skulk. I heard over the com-system:
"I NEED A MEDKIT AND AMMO NOW!"
Although I didn't have anything but my own LMG and some clays, I went into the hall
to help him. Once I got up the first flight of stairs, I found myself dodging acid
from offencive chambers. I dove into the room he was in.
"Hey, what brings you here?"
"Just relaxing."
But now was no time for comedy. We requested medpacks and ammo again, this time
recieving some, and we worked out a plan.
"We've only got one exit outta here, and thats through those damn offencive
chambers."
"We ain't gonna last too long going that way." I looked around for something we can
use. "Help me with this panel."
"What are you gonna do with that? Ahhhh! A shield!"
"Not exactly..."
We pushed the metal right up to the chambers..
"Take cover!" I placed 4 of my 5 clays onto the metal and armed them. I then took
cover, and carefully aimed my pistol. I fired, detonating the clays and filling the
room with fire and shrapnel, along with tiny bits of alien goo. I peeked around the
corner, all chambers down. I leaned back onto the wall with a sigh of relief. We
looked at eachother and smiled, wondering how we managed that one...

So, what do you guys think? Good, Bad, Worse, "OMFG GET IT AWAY FROM ME"?
